Mr. P
If you wanna pay 14 mil per season to a one-dimensional safety I guess you could have. Yeah not saying Im in favor of that.
BlueInCanada
Couldnt giants have been like yeah sure youre still a safety. And just line his ass up in the box. I mean that pretty much what he did 99.9% of the time with Bettcher. Spags was the only guy who really made Collins sit in double high looks. Mr. P
Ill say this though, While he is one dimensional, hes exceptional at that one dimension, he can make plays. You dont pay what he got for that though.
CrazedDogs
Just so ya'll know I'm not totally crazy, I'm going to leave this here: Tae Davis, who has been quietly seeing more and more snaps at inside linebacker, is listed as the "moneybacker" role, a position that Ogletree played last year. Davis is a converted college safety and the Giants coaches have really liked his ability to cover and add some speed to the linebacker corps, which is why this switch has likely been made. https://footballmaven.io/nygiants/news/giants-release-first-unofficial-depth-chart-of-2019-EgMJ4AWmOEaksrgh6gQaUg/ And lets hear it for Tae Davis. He's getting a lot of first team reps.

CrazedDogs
that isn't a contradiction, the moneybacker is an ILB. All 'moneybackers' are inside linebackers, but not all inside linebackers are 'moneybackers'.

Good to hear Davis is having a good camp, I want to see that in September when it counts.
