Tempest
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Stewart signed a two-year $6.9 contract with the Giants. He will receive $2.95 million in guaranteed money and can make up to $8.2 million in incentives. I'm with everyone else that is unsure of what to think of this deal. It is pretty clear the Giants needed a veteran RB on the roster. Only way Stewart starts is if Gallman/Perkins hand the job to him. Sure there were better RB's available but I think it would have been financially irresponsible to go after them. I don't think the Giants could have signed Peterson for this price or have him ride the bench. Just have to trust they know better than we do. gmenroc
I would've taken Darkwa over Stewart and likely for far less.

Tempest
Darkwa hasn't been the answer at RB for some time now. Is he better than the 2018 version of Stewart we're signing? I don't know but we'll find out.

Tempest
I was thinking Stewart replaces Vereen Stewart and Vereen are opposites. Paul Perkins is probably more similar to Vereen.

Tempest
Opposites? you mean Stewart will be productive? LOL oh In productivity I'm hoping Stewart is on the bench more than Vereen was because Gallman becomes the starter and has a 1600 yard season. I assume you're saying stewart is not a 3rd down, out of the backfield type back.

fringe
To me, anyone that was in the RB position last year is easily replaceable by another guy. Would any of them break a starting lineup in the NFL? I doubt it.
Tempest
I assume you're saying stewart is not a 3rd down, out of the backfield type back. I see him more as short yardage/goal line situational back.

CrazedDogs
That is a shame. He clearly wasn't the guy we were so concerned about in the preseason. He was still good enough to contribute.
