BlueInCanada
Davey has to draft Barkley and not give a fuck what else anyone thinks. That team is set up to run and the Giants need to get back too it.
CrazedDogs
It's so tempting. Best RB prospect in I don't even know how long. Maybe since Kijana Carter. Certainly better than Elliot, Fournette, or Gurley, all of whom are very good.
CrazedDogs
And take note of what Jacksonville's linebackers are doing too.
BronxRik
I said this in the "Pick #2" thread 2 weeks ago: Give Eli another year and Saquon Barkley with a rebuilt O-Line, Beckham, Shepherd, and Engram. I guess I'm saying Barkley with the 2nd pick and get a QB in '19. Someone should be available at 32.

That team is set up to run and the Giants need to get back too it. This is what I think and Vikes where second in rushing attempts this year. Dalvin Cook looked like a star in Shurmurs scheme. Probably Barkley at 2 and Mason Rudolph at 34. Hell probably let Eli dink and dunk in a lost year then open the offense

Hell probably let Eli dink and dunk in a lost year then open the offense I'm a firm believer that Jackson will be able to be picked up in the second round if not trading back up in the first, seems like a guy that Shurmur would love. Especially with how much guys like Allen/Mayfield raising in the ranks, and Darnold declaring for the draft, all of them better options at QB, I think Jackson gets pushed way down people's draft boards and ends up in the second for the Gints to grab. Sephiroth
To be fair, we do have Jonathan Castillas, who is almost good enough to be a backup on most NFL teams.
JayD
Yea I'm sold on Barkley. I know its a risk, but I think it would pay off yuge.
gmenroc
I'm leaning more towards the Barkley or OL with the 2nd overall, given Eli and Webb. I do wish they'd have given Webb playing time down the stretch, but that ship has sailed. My only concern with Barkley is that he's not going to do what he did in college with our current offensive line. So, I'm comfortable with Barkley only under a plan where the offensive line is made the priority. I would love too, to see our current running game with a healthy, little-more-experienced group of Beckham, Shepard, Engram. But again, it starts upfront...that's needed attention for years now and this offseason is no different.

fringe
OL can be addressed later in the draft.
Nas
OL can be addressed later in the draft. I have to believe 2 starters would have to come via FA... assuming 2 are even available.
gmenroc
Pugh and Richburg are free agents...need anyone need reminded. Offensive line cabinet is awfully empty.

mastershake
Also, is anyone else aware that we have practically no LB's on this team? Kennard, Casillas, Robinson, Shepherd, who aside from Kennard and aside from Robinson on health were already marginal to begin with, are free agents. mastershake
Here's my offseason plan to address key needs, with an eye on ~$30-35mm in open cap space after we make cuts (e.g. Dwayne Harris) or contract adjustments (e.g. DRC, plus some others will have to): OL - Sign LT Nate Solder (will be a hefty contract), sign Fluker to a 1 year ~$2mm deal. Draft 2 additional OL in the first four rounds. LB - Sign OLB Tahir Whitehead (another hefty contract), resign OLB Kennard to a modest deal, and resign Robinson to a 1 year small deal for depth. Draft additional LBs, ideally one in the top three rounds. CB - Re-sign Ross Cockrell to a decent contract to be the #2 CB (on paper), adjust DRCs whopping $8.5mm deal down to provide cap space. With the new regime, keep Apple around and see if he can redeem himself, or at least for depth. SS/DL (backups for depth only) - Late round picks/cheap veteran FA pickups if we can. QB - If Rosen is there at #2 draft him. If not, trade down and obtain more picks. Pass on Barkley. Given all of our priorities above, and the current roster, I would de-prioritize RB, WR, TE. Steitzenhaus
After watching Telvin Smith and Myles Jack run all over the place wreaking havoc during these playoffs it's nice to know attaining a linebacker like that is at least possible now. I think all of us were upset when we didn't draft Jack... And I would have to believe we will have a very good MLB on the roster soon.
Herc
Hes not a MLB but I would not be sad if we traded down and took Roquan Smith. That guy is the next telvin smith
