Lughead
Seems he wouldn't want Belichick as a head coach because he is "to strict". But I think that seems what this young team needs.
JayD
I love Collins and all, but forget him. Bill can win without him. I cant wait till a head coach is hired, so I can either celebrate bringing Bill home, or get it outta my head. Cause how awesome would that be? mastershake
To be clear...he's questioning the creds of a coach who's led teams to 7 super bowls, plus went 13-3 this season for the top seed in the AFC, and highly likely well on their way to another super bowl run? LOL With Collins coming off his worst year by far in the pros. Might as well have had Stevie Brown back there with how lost and out of position Collins played this year in pass coverage. Honestly people want Oline and LB help, I want the Giants to draft a ball hawk FS so Collins can stay in the box.
Sephiroth
Yeah, I don't really want Belichick either. All those double-digit win seasons and Super Bowl rings must be a real pain in the balls.

Chuck Wagon
Haha understandable I guess. Isnt saban supposed to be really strict too? Only if letting a kid who just attacked an assistant...back in on kick coverage is considered strict. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yFfp4p2pktY But generally...that is his rep. Said this a few weeks ago FS is an underrated need Darian Thompson is awful and I have no idea if the other Thompson is still on the team, but I guess thats what happens when you take an UDFA in round
GorillaNJ
As for Belichick, the five-time Super Bowl-winning coach who said on Monday he “absolutely” plans to stay with the Patriots, Collins said Belichick is too similar to his college coach, Nick Saban, for his taste. He credited Saban’s rigid style with getting him to the NFL, but it’s not something he wants to live through again. “The way he runs his organization, I’ve been through that process. I don’t like it,” Collins said. “It’s too strict. …. He’s a great winner, he’s a great coach. I don’t know if [his style] is what the organization really wants. “I talked to guys who played for [his] team. They love winning, but at the same time, they don’t want to be on the team.” It is not like he really has any impact on the decision, or that BB is going to leave New England. The take away I get from it though is, he knows a strict style of coaching is successful in winning Championships, and even with that he would rather not do it. That is not the win at all cost attitude I would like to see in my Defensive leader

JayD
I was thinking about this this morning. No wonder we are in such a mess. Being a NY Giant should be hard. Should be extremely difficult, mentally and physically. To the point where most people, heck most athletes couldn't hang. No wonder we dropped into crap town within one year of Coughlin walking out the door. And we even have a player admitting it. They are easy street, compared to probably most competitive teams. We can only hope all that changes no matter who they bring in.
mastershake
What was so wrong with Adams that he was relegated to a backup role this year? I thought he more than held his own in 2016 as a starter, and was better than Thompson.
Herc
No idea. Adams was way better, then again every position played better in 2016 even if the same guy manned the spot

MakeMeSomeFoodHo
Collins played for coughlin, had a very good rookie year under tc. Had a dmvp season last year. Wasn't bad this year, but wasn't nearly as good as last year. But that can be said for the entire team with one or two exceptions. All that said, Collins is one of the best young strong safeties in the game...I want him on this team for as long as possible..as long as he can still play that is. I expect him to have a great year next season..and I agree a free safety is a must, makes Collins much better..he has to do too much without a capable free safety. And Adams was good, don't know what happened there
mastershake
Same thing that was wrong with Darkwa. Coaches didn't have an eye for talent and he wasn't a draft pick. You hit the nail on the head. If Adams were a 4th round pick or higher, hed be the unquestioned starter.
