fringe
In my opinion, a mutually great deal. Gruden was sitting pretty in MNF (although ESPN is starting to bleed money) and he needed to be secure And the Raiders need stability and star quality who can wine and dine the Steve Wynn types in LV. If this goes thru, its a win/win. All they have to do is win.

Tempest
He's overrated, won't make it five years. The QB guru who couldn't develop one and veterans would rather retire than work with.

Pretty much. Had to go to a team that was already built by the GM and Dungy just to get a SB win and didnt do fuck all after that. Guy knows football, just cant coach a team to save his life. Just when you think that the Al Davis influence was finally gone from Oakland, they go full panic mode after one season and are ready to gut the entire organization again. lol have fun Vegas. I think hell be great. He and Carr love each other.

fringe
Whats continuously hysterical to me is that folks bring up that he won a super bowl with Dungys team never talk about the team that he built, which was playing Dungy's team that year. Also, the year before, the Super Bowl appearance was stolen from another team he built.

Also, the year before, the Super Bowl appearance was stolen from another team he built. He was only in Oakland for four years, and his biggest success was bringing in Gannon. He was never able to build anything in Tampa Bay, despite having more control than he did in Oakland. He was the Gary Kubiak of his time.
fringe
Come on, if you use the Dungy argument, you have to give him credit for the Raiders...
BlueInCanada
Come on, if you use the Dungy argument, you have to give him credit for the Raiders... And I did, he brought in Gannon, they were an average team and he brought in a QB that made them better. But when he actually had a team for a longer period of time, they didnt do a single thing besides one year of taking over a SB contending team with one of the best defenses in the NFL. Like I said he's the Gary Kubiak of his time, took over a team at the right time but couldn't do a single thing with it afterwards when they probably should of been better. Yeah I feel the same..Yeah he may have taken over a ready made super bowl team, but he left a ready made super bowl team behind.
