BlueInCanada
I've never seen a bigger pussy in my life run with the football since we kicked Andre Williams off the team. Guy is afraid to run the ball. Darkwa and Vereen need to carry the load, maybe see if we can get lucky with some FA out there or some guy off a practice squad. Hopefully invest a pick into a future work horse, been hearing some good things about RBs in the second/third round this upcoming draft being better than many of the past drafts. Sephiroth
For the life of me I don't know why Darkwa isn't getting the ball more. Dude makes yards literally every time he touches the rock.
Iceman_NYG
Darkwa needs to be a bell cow and Perkins the change of pace back. Vereen on passing downs was a fucking beast with NE. WTF are we doing with him????
Mr. P
Vereen caught 9 passes Sunday night.
fringe
For 3 yards it seems. Odell changes everything. He loosens up the defense and makes everything else work just by being present. Otherwise, everyone plays 10 in the box against us
Sephiroth
Also, is Sterling Shepard incapable of running a greater-than-five-yard route? Is there a clause in his contract that says "five and under only?"
GorillaNJ
Also, is Sterling Shepard incapable of running a greater-than-five-yard route? Is there a clause in his contract that says "five and under only?" That is probably there to prevent injury.... he is on a step count.
CrazedDogs
Also, is Sterling Shepard incapable of running a greater-than-five-yard route? Is there a clause in his contract that says "five and under only?" He's the slot receiver so those are bread and butter routes, but I see what you mean. Maybe they just don't trust him with the full route tree? He has a great vertical, in a jump ball against defensive backs he plays 6'3", but they rarely attempt it. Treehugger
Perkins is an explosive runner in space and a great receiver. Using him as the main between-the-tackles back is a huge waste.

His size isn't bad though, he should be fine between the tackles. I worry that the lack of real football preparation in the preseason will prevent guys from Perkins from rounding out their skillset. Tempest
For the life of me I don't know why Darkwa isn't getting the ball more. Dude makes yards literally every time he touches the rock. Because he is not the best RB on the roster. I appreciate that he runs hard but that is all there is to him and it is not enough.
Sephiroth
"He runs hard" is more than any other back is giving us right now. Damning with faint praise maybe, but at this point I'd give it a shot. Dude accounted for almost half of our total rushing yards on three carries... what do we have to lose? CrazedDogs
I don't think it is fair to hold it against Perkins that the OL made it's only hole of the day for Darkwa.

Another game McAdoo is not using his RB's effectively. Perkins was the starter and played 17 snaps. Vereen had 31 snaps and Darkwa had 8. Playing them as if he was looking for someone to step up. Hoping this week McAdoo gives Manning the protection to get the ball to Evans downfield to open up the running game.

You need to put a RB out there for at least a half . Let him get a feel for what is going on. First Quarter By the second offensive series, we were already swapping out Perkins for Vereen. Second Quarter Darkwa & Vereen was in on the the fourth offensive series. Nobody is getting an opportunity to establish themselves out there. McAdoo has seen these guys in training camp, practice, etc. yet he is playing them as if he was still evaluating them. McAdoo picked Perkins as their starter, he should have stuck with him. BlueInCanada
Guess it's not impossible to score a TD Against the Cowboys I hate watching other teams that are properly coached. There's teams out there worse off than the Gints looking 10x better, why is it so hard for MacAttack to figure out something that works?
Sephiroth
I was thinking the same thing. How bad is our offense if the thoroughly mediocre Broncos attack is carving up the same defense that shut us out last week?

I wouldn't call it mediocre, they have a top 5 WR and RB, and Seaman is better with another year under his belt. Oline is probably on the same level of the Gints though.
