Nas
I dunno, ankle sprain is one of the most painful things I've ever personally experienced... Correct.. at least the 1st 5 minutes...
Storm
I Thought you said JG posting in a Gameday thread was the most painful for you? JG?

CrazedDogs
damn? I'm not sure, sometimes broken ankles are an easier recovery than a bad sprain.
gmenroc
Dude, I'm seeing nothing on a break...everything I'm reading says low ankle sprain, that the Giants avoided a big injury, and the cart was just a precaution.
Gman329
Yeah, I'm looking all over the net and see nothing about a break.
CrazedDogs
Me too, the normal local sources aren't saying this yet..
Mr. P
Yeah not a break. Sterling Shepard expected to be "in the clear," per source. He underwent an MRI on Thursday. Coach Ben McAdoo said it was "due diligence." https://twitter.com/jordanraanan/status/893441483314937858

Tempest
Probably shuts him down for the rest of the preseason.
gmenroc
Probably shuts him down for the rest of the preseason. Eh, he might get a series or two towards the end of the preseason. Minor sprains can heal pretty quick if you have the ability to stay off the foot and have proper treatment, which you can be sure these guys have. So as long as he rests it, keeps it in the boot...could be a 2-3 week recovery before working in some stretching and flexibility and starting to run on it again. He's not a rookie anymore and with OBJ and Marshall, he's likely to be the 3rd option anyway, maybe even the 4th depending on how Engram is worked in. All we really need from Shepard and Engram is Steve Smith production. If we can get 100+ catches between them with an 8 or 9 yard average, we're in great shape. Lughead
I am watching ESPN this Morning and Jordan Ranaan was saying that this past Saturday Shepard was out on the practice field making cuts and and look like everything was good to go but the Giants might keep him out of the preseason as a precaution. gmenroc
Read this AM that he was running at 75% doing light cuts and felt fine. Said if it was gameday, he'd be playing. That, for what, 3 days worth of recovery? Have to believe he'll be perfectly fine if they let him continue to rest it the next week or two. BronxRik
In terms of his healing and the Giants resting him up, you have to ask yourself this: "What would Jesus do?"
