Sephiroth
Will Tye and Nikita Whitlock had better buy that dude his lunch this week, because without that 51-yard catch and run there's a good chance we're calling for those two guys' heads right now. Storm
I'm not quite sure why we got rid of an actual fullback to put a defensive tackle who has no idea what he is doing at fullback. He's still trying to learn the position, it's not his fault, but he absolutely sucks as a lead blocker.
Herc
but he's such a great story! he plays offense AND defense!
Storm
but he's such a great story! he plays offense AND defense! He makes me miss Hynoski so much when Vereen and Williams are getting blown up in the backfield from the I Formation. And they really only give Jennings the ball on draw plays, not sure I get that. Tempest
Offense, Defense and Special Teams. Whitlock played very well on the defensive side of the ball.

Iceman_NYG
Whitlock I think is an asset who will come up with those crucial plays during crunch times I feel. And God bless Vereen. That guy has got to be the smartest player with the best presence of mind this entire roster has seen. Hope he can instill that mentality into some of the other dumbshits we have on this team. Cant believe the Pats let him walk. He needs to be used more...a LOT more.

I especially like that they're not using him strictly on the perimeter - he's been very effective on those inside draws.......but I think you have to be a little careful about overusing him in that area. gmenroc
Jennings had 9 carries for 38 yards and 2 receptions for 54 yards and a TD. Not a bad statline for a guy who is sharing the RB duties with two other guys.
BlueInCanada
I'm impressed by Whitlock, he brings value to every aspect of the team, it's just a shame he's so raw at FB, but hey if he can learn to atleast become a decent FB, you have one player who can play on every side of the ball well. Heck he might be a better DT then anything. Jennings has been a great pick up by JR, sure the injury bug likes to bite him but he's been a solid back for the Giant's and was pretty much the only starting guy last year. Gman329
If the Pate were using Whitlock like we are, everyone would be talking about the innovative genius of Belichick. The kind of athlete he is and his natural football instincts, I have to believe he'll get better and better as a fullback and also contribute as a DT. I think he's a great addition. Next act - his first TD! I predict it comes on a play fake, short flip and he's wide open!
Zelmo
If the Pate were using Whitlock like we are, everyone would be talking about the innovative genius of Belichick. This! It's funny how much is perception driven....you're one hundred percent right....we're the old fashioned stuck in our ways coached by an old man Giants....whereas if the Pats would do this it would be yet another example of Belichik's endless wellspring of genius and creativity and flexibility and innovation. -Z
Storm
I think the difference is that Belichek's teams go on average like 12-4 every season and have won more Super Bowls...I think that's why he gets called a genius. Analysts go nuts over things like this, it doesn't matter if it's the Pats or the Jags. They were gushing over the fact that Seattle has something like 25 undrafted free agents on their team and went into a discussion about the different positions and the versatility of some of them, playing from special teams to defense, etc.
