boohyah
Let's start with a title that might piss people off. McCourty was not franchised by New England who used it on the kicker, so chances are he's a free. Thoughts?

Bigblue25
McCourty is a FS and Rolle a SS. McCourty is from Montvale and went to college at Rutgers. I'd love to bring him home
BlueInCanada
He had a good rookie season, has been a solid starter, nothing more nothing less. If he could be signed for the right price he would be a solid starter for the next few seasons, until they have room to get someone better. Yeah Moore and McCourty are pretty much the only two. The next best FS after them is Stevie Brown

Bigblue25
Or Antrel Rolle. Rolle could be a FS again
gmenroc
Rolle could be a FS again Depends on what the market determines his value to be. I think we still try to get younger with Moore or McCourty - but I wouldn't completely exclude Rolle from coming back if we don't land those two. Tempest
McCourty sounds good but will be expensive. If the Giants are looking for younger, on the upswing and cheaper then Kendrick Lewis is a candidate. I still think Rolle should be brought back a couple of weeks from now. osi724dasack
McCourty staying in New England 5 years $47 million, 25 guaranteed. TOok less money to stay there.

Mr. P
They are now expected to turn their attention to Denver’s Rahim Moore and Kansas City’s Ron Parker, both of whom they expressed interest in over the weekend. http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/giants/giants-lose-mccourty-patriots-blog-entry-1.2142316?cid=bitly

Bigblue25
I think I would want Moore over McCourty anyway. I am confused on how New England who is over the cap is able to resign him, Did cutting Wilfork save them that much?
Herc
they aren't actually over the cap. it's just that they got creative with revis' deal so he couldn't be franchised and gave him a 2nd voidable year with a cap number of 25 mil for 2015 with dead money of 5 mil. so 20 mil comes off the cap tomorrow or whenever

Mr. P
Tom Pelissero @TomPelissero 2m2 minutes ago Devin McCourty cap hits: $6M in 2015, $8M in 2016, $10M in 2017, $11M in 2018, $12.5M in 2019. Total value: $47.5M over 5 years.
BlueInCanada
So they void Revis contract and then resign him to a more cap friendly deal. No wonder this team is so good Well when the team is as good as the Pats have been for the last 10 years, players there want to win, and the team seems to only sign guys who want to win. Meanwhile we have a mogo in JPP who is going to eat up 14 million in cap space and do nothing but rack up meaningless sacks in the last five games of the year. NightFire
Rolle signed with the Bears so neither for the Giants. What about Thomas DeCoud?
Storm
Rolle signed with the Bears so neither for the Giants. What about Thomas DeCoud? Addition by subtraction, Rolles mouth outplays his performance on the field.
