carl 1010
I personally think it could be an excellent learning experience for him. Especially if the Giants were to lose this game. He had a taunting penalty called against him. It was the Rams going after HIM that cased 3 teammates to get kicked out. I think especially if the Giants lost this game, because of the ejections, quite a number of teammates would have a word with him, hopefully calming down his celebrations. I certainly wouldn't want his production to be reduced as a result of reduced enthusiasm, but he has to learn to act like he has done it before. He and Cruz are hopefully going to combine to make this an exceptional offense next season, but he has to learn that drawing stupid penalties is unacceptable. BlueInCanada
He's young, he'll learn. "if the Giants lost this game, because of the ejections, quite a number of teammates would have a word with him" I'm sure the coaches and players are going to have a word with him regardless of a win or loss. Storm
Bullshit, every player in the NFL celebrates. The Rams are a frustrated, middling team and have no offensive weapons, so they targeted Beckham because he's a rookie and having success. If you want to silence him, stop him. Don't take cheap shots. It's not on Beckham or his extremely mild touchdown celebration. I don't even put Beckham's TD dance on the same level as Cruz's as far as "rubbing it in". carl 1010
I was very happy to see that (lack of) celebration. I guess he got a talking to at halftime.
carl 1010
I disagree with the last part of that post. With Cruz he does the same thing every single time. With Beckham it seems he is a bit out of control when he scores.

BlueInCanada
He does the same dance, every time, are you kidding? And it's not like he's going crazy or anything, the only reason anything happened was because the Rams defender was a little bitch who couldn't take the fact that hes a scrub who got beaten by Odell. Sephiroth
What player doesn't celebrate these days? The Rams are just sore loser douches. That flag on Beckham shouldn't have been called either.
carl 1010
Sorry I just think he needed to rein it in a bit. Obviously, I'm not the only one who thinks so, since he did NOTHING after his second TD

Nas
Let's not get this blown out of proportion. You have a young kid who's the talk of the league and some losers among the Rams team who wanted to steal to spot-light but not with their play but with cheap shots. Agreed. What player doesn't celebrate? And reign it in? He shouldn't have even gotten called for "taunting" unless the ref heard him say something. The dance itself doesn't warrant a penalty. Beckham and his enthusiasm are good for the game.

Storm
The things never said when it was Jeremy Shockey or Brandon Jacobs.... Beckham showing the first down signal when he converts or dancing when he scores is completely different from spiking the ball after an 8 yard run or reception and drawing a personal foul

Iceman_NYG
You call that a celebration???? Hell its just a normal dance signifying TD. I remember that dude from KC few years back who would do "the worm" in the end zone!!! This wasn't an excessive celebration - and it was a bullshit penalty. And the Rams D, who probably came in to the game with all their pep talk from their coaches about how great and impenetrable their secondary is, were getting sodomized and owned by Odell just couldn't tolerate the level of butthurt going on and ran out of Vaseline and decided to go pussycheapshot. This was just overall crap. Hope that dude continues his endzone celebration for a long long and many many times with us.

The only thing I can think of Ice is that Beckham said something to draw that penalty because before that, he's never been flagged for that celebration. He does that dance every time. Storm
To me, it's kind of disappointing to see that despite the fact that we finally have a kid who wants to play, loves the game, and hates losing....that we still have folks who think he should tone it down. We're talking about a kid with attitude and desire...that the rest of the team can rally around and you want to quell that? This is what the team has been missing throughout their mediocrity...a player who won't settle for losing. I've mentioned it I don't know how many times that the Giants lack heart and struggle to find an identity and they don't have a player that you can count on to make a play when a play is needed. That is Odell Beckham Jr. We have one now. We could really use one on the other side of the ball, now. Beckham...this...THIS is our identity now. It's no longer Manning's ho-hum, "we have to make more plays" team. It's Odell's, Manning-givemethedamnball team.
Bigblue25
It's a Fisher/Greg Williams staple to be a dirty football team. I have no idea why anybody on this board would want him near the Giants. He has a 162-146 coaching record and his teams are always amongst the most penalized in the NFL
