Plax 4 Prez
Trachsel looks to win series for Mets New York Mets (22-11) at Philadelphia (18-15), 7:05 p.m. ET The Mets look for more breathing room in the National League East when they take on the Phillies on Thursday in the decisive game of their three-game series at Citizens Bank Park. With their win on Wednesday, the division-leading Mets are four games ahead of the second-place Phillies. New York will hand the ball to Steve Trachsel, who has had mixed results this season. After a strong start, Trachsel has struggled in his last two starts, both against the Braves, giving up 10 earned runs in 9 2/3 innings. Trachsel last pitched on Friday, giving up four runs in six innings and earning a no-decision in the Mets' 14-inning win over Atlanta. Trachsel will go up against young right-hander Gavin Floyd, who enters with a 6.16 ERA, but has pitched well and earned wins in his last two starts. Pitching matchup NYM: Steve Trachsel (2-2, 4.96 ERA) Trachsel's track record at Citizens Bank Park is mixed -- a 1-2 record, a 5.79 ERA and four home runs allowed in 18 2/3 innings. The lion's share of the damage was done last season in his final start -- seven runs in 4 2/3 innings. PHI: Gavin Floyd (3-2, 6.16 ERA) The Phillies have won four of Floyd's six starts. Both of his losses have come at home, where he has produced an 8.50 ERA in 18 innings over four starts. gateb
We need Trachsel to step it up tonight. I'd rather him have 7 innings 3 ER and lose then win like a 10-8 game where he pitched three innings
Blue Jeans
No, I'd rather take the win. We only play so many games against a tough division rival who will make a push for the pennant. He can take his losses somewhere else.

xxi-xxv
Reyes is getting homer happy, he needs to concentrate on putting the bat on the ball.

jranieli
damn I'd hate to lose like this Only the Phillies want to win like this because they know they really aren't that good and got a lucky win streak going where they played good. We should have won the first game and completely controlled this game.
GorillaNJ
I flipped the game on and saw the mets up 4-0 with the bases loaded.... Then I noticed the litte rain dely icon on the screen.
gateb
Reyes is getting homer happy, he needs to concentrate on putting the bat on the ball. Seems that's the case after every homer now. Phillies have a great offense. But like us, they'll go as far as their pitching. I kinda don't mind losing like this because Steve didn't pitch horribly and we have our pen rested and ready to go the next two days with Lima and Gonzalez on the mound. Those are two big games.
