GA4M
Everything going on with NY is just part of a descending SB team that is just trying to keep pace like it once had. I'm in for the long haul but I have a feeling that TC and Eli could be gone after this year.

TC stays until the Giant's kick him out the door or he dies on the sideline, the guy loves football and I think everything I read has made it clear that he will keep coaching the Giants until the higher ups say otherwise. Eli is signed on till 2016, he plays till then. I wouldn't be surprised to see him retire a Giant or if the team is playing well get another contract. That or he decided to ride off into the sunset as a Raider and get a few four win seasons to add to the end of his career.

I liked the old TC better when he was hungry. wonder if there's a chance Eli could get benched before his contract ends?

This coming season I don't think the Giants are expecting a Superbowl run, obviously they are playing for it but there are way to many unknowns on this team. Eli and everyone will get a show me year this year to see who they want to build on as this era of the Giants comes to an end and the owners and JR prepare for the new era in the new few seasons. Treehugger
I've heard Eli called a lot of things, but never "The Roof Genie".
Tempest
Coughlin has a job here as long as he wants one at this point and he has earned that level of commitment from the organization. Eli is in a slightly different position simply because of the salary cap. Giants want to bring his numbers down to keep the team competitive and prepare for a future without him. gmenroc
I think this upcoming year is huge for Eli given last year's struggles. If the interceptions continue, I'm not so sure the Giants are keen on risking 2015 and 2016 to be more of the same. A new coordinator, a focus on bringing in weapons, upgrading spots on the offensive line in back to back offseasons...don't know, but it appears they're doing their part to help Eli. As for Coughlin, it seems he may have hitched his wagon to Eli. I'm guessing that when Eli goes, Coughlin goes, and we Giants fans may as well not watch football for the year or two that follows. Mr. P
Giants linebacker Jon Beason was examined yesterday by Foot and Ankle Specialist Dr. Robert Anderson in Charlotte. After the exam and a review of Beason’s MRI, X-Rays and CT scan, it was determined that Beason’s injury -- a ligament tear and a small fracture to the sesamoid in his right foot – does not require surgery. Beason’s foot will be immobilized for six weeks (three weeks in a cast and three in a walking boot) as the first step in his rehabilitation. Jon Beason commented on these results: “My visit with Dr. Anderson went as well as it could have yesterday. I’m happy that it was determined that I will be able to recover without surgery. My plan is to work as hard as I can during my rehab so I can be fully recovered around the start of the regular season opener on Monday night in Detroit.” http://www.giants.com/news-and-blogs/article-1/LB-Jon-Beason-will-not-need-surgery/5673735d-f1ed-41c3-b671-79c8aeb32882
gmenroc
6 weeks off the foot...leaving another 4-5 weeks to strengthen and rehab it...that's a much more positive timeframe.
