Bigblue25
It's a long shot, but the Giants have expressed interest. What you guys think... would you like Johnson. New York Giants Have Expressed Interest in Tennessee Titans RB Chris Johnson: Report April 3rd, 2014 at 7:30 PMBy Dan Benton The New York Giants may have signed Rashad Jennings earlier in free agency, but should the Tennessee Titans ultimately release running back Chris Johnson, you can expect the Giants to be among the teams who pursue him, reports Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports 1. San Diego Shooter / Foter / Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 2.0 Generic (CC BY-NC-ND 2.0)As Garafolo notes, the Giants previously inquired with the Titans about a potential trade for Johnson, but nothing came to fruition. However, if the veteran does, in fact, hit the free agent market, the Giants may not be dissuaded despite their earlier acquisition of Jennings. "Among the teams you should expect to show interest are the same ones that expressed interest in a trade with Tennessee," Garafolo said. "Some of those include the Jets, the Cowboys and even the New York Giants." Although Garafolo lists the Giants as a potential destination, he states specifically that the New York Jets and Dallas Cowboys will likely lead the pack. He also implies that Johnson could be had for around $3M – $4M, which would fall within the Giants' current range of cap space (roughly $4M remaining). "I think it's a matter of time before Chris won't be with the Titans," Johnson's agent, Joel Segal, said Wednesday on SiriusXM NFL Radio. Given the uncertainty of David Wilson's health, the non-guaranteed jobs for both Peyton Hillis and Kendall Gaskins, and the relative inexperience of Michael Cox, it's not completely outside the realm of possibility for the Giants to be serious contenders for Johnson despite having signed Jennings. After all, General Manager Jerry Reese always says "never say never." But given their tight cap space and their reluctance to engage in serious bidding wars, it's more likely that Johnson ends up with either the Jets or Cowboys. http://www.sportsmedia101.com/newyorkgiants/2014/04/03/new-york-giants-have-expressed-interest-in-tennessee-titans-rb-chris-johnson-report/
BleedinBlue
Would love him if they can work out a short-term (2-3 yrs) contract filled with incentives. At 28 yrs old, he's going to be good for 2-3 yrs before his body starts going south. But right now he's healthy and is entering his prime. ("rushed for over 1,000 yards in all six of his NFL seasons. Rushed for over 2,000 yards in 2009. Has accrued almost 8,000 yards rushing and 50 rushing touchdowns in six seasons" what's not to love?). TC says he's not going to use Wilson until he knows he is 100% (interpretation: will miss at least the first half of the season). I wouldn't be surprised if Reese is trying to finagle a deal here. Would love it! Nothing makes an aerial game more prosperous than a dangerous running game!
Mr. P
I'd be good if we could make it happen. I very much doubt it.
BleedinBlue
Doesn't seem like the type of guy TC would want on his team. The guy is a real asshole from everything I've read and is one of the reasons Tennessee wants to jettison him (that, and his brutal contract), but is the type of runner who can generate huge plays. He goes down easily (supposedly), but if he gets open, he's gone. Mixed feelings about this guy. Personality reminds me of Shockey, only worse. Nas
It's very possible... I can see Eli restructuring to make this happen.
gmenroc
I'd hesitate because I still want to give Wilson a shot. Signing Johnson to a 2 or 3 year deal added to Jennings being brought in...essentially kills any chance Wilson might have. That said, I think CJ would help this team and I guess I'd be good with his signing on for 2 years...definitely not 3...and no more than 3.5 million per...or offer him 4 million per just to drive up the price for the Cowboys or Jets...assuming they're interested. I don't want the guy to fight too hard for inches... remember Cruz having the ball stripped from him (was it against Dallas?)... And Johnson has proven to be a very good runner... If he can come for $4M or under, the Giants would be fools not to sign him... And that means Wilson gets another year to heal and mature too... BleedinBlue
You know that's new York giants safety will hill, right? Yeah...I know. The two have similar reputations. Hill cleaned up his act (??) so far....maybe. Not sure that Johnson isn't worse. I don't think he's exactly like Hill, but he's got a personality that rivals Shockey on coke. this is Johnson:

Bigblue25
So you're saying he's Barry Sanders-esque? This is why we drafted Wilson to be a home run hitter. CJ can at least follow his lead blocker, unlike Wilson who dances in the hole or tries to take it outside for a huge gain.
