BleedinBlue
Giants sign return man, safety Quintin Demps By Conor Orr/The Star-Ledger The Giants came to terms with return man and free safety Quintin Demps late last night, a person with knowledge of the situation confirmed. Demps had posted a few messages hinting toward the agreement. Demps, 28, returned 33 kickoffs for 992 yards and a touchdown last season (30.1 yards/return average), which was his best season since 2008 where he returned 52 kickoffs for 1,314 yards and a score. He was the third most productive kickoff returner among regulars in 2013. A former fourth-round pick, Demps has made stops in Philadelphia, Houston and Kansas City. Aside from his return duties with the Chiefs last year, he played on nearly half of the team's defensive snaps, logging 31 tackles and a pair of quarterback pressures. BleedinBlue
From BBV: While you were sleeping the New York Giants were still working in NFL Free Agency, signing safety/kickoff returner Quintin Demps. Demps played last season for the Kansas City Chiefs. The Giants will be the 28-year-old six-year veteran's fourth NFL team. Demps will add safety depth. The Giants alread have Antrel Rolle, Will Hill, Stevie Brown and Cooper Taylor at the safety position. More attractive to the Giants, however, might have been Demps' ability as a kickoff returner. The Giants missed earlier in free agency in efforts to sign return men Jacoby Jones and Ted Ginn Jr. Demps averaged 30.1 yards with one touchdown on 33 kickoff returns for the Chiefs last season. For his career, Demps has averaged 27.4 yards on 96 returns. Demps has never returned punts.
BleedinBlue
This is a good signing. The past few years, we've struggled to find a return man and our poor field position has hurt us. I thought Wilson was going to be the guy for awhile, but like all the others before (and after) him who showed flashes, something came up and we got back to our standard 5 yard kickoff returns. Hopefully, adding Demps will finally solve that problem and let us start with decent field position more often....not to mention, we should have a pretty solid crew at safety....especially if Cooper Taylor emerges as the real deal. Nas
While I think our return problems go beyond just a return man, this is def a very good signing.
Treehugger
How many "return men" have we signed over the last decade who did basically nothing? This guy will do nothing too as long as that handsome sumbitch Quinn is running the show.

We could put Devin Hester in his prime back there and return schemes and shitty special teams players would ensure that we would be better off just kneeling the ball and starting at the 20. I think it's more about having someone back there who wont fumble the ball or putting a starter back there who will just end up getting killed. I sure as hell don't want Cruz, Randel or Wilson back returning kicks or punts.
Tempest
LOL Tom Quinn, how the fuck does he still have a job? Yeah the return man isn't the problem with the Giants special teams. Its the fucking horrendous blocking and the uncanny ability to get a block in the back called weekly.

It says he's never done punt returns and shoukdn't they change the title of kickoff returner to "end zone kneeler"
