Giants-Jets Game Recap Watch Highlights from the Giants Preseason Week 3 matchup View Updated Depth Chart In addition to Curry, the players released today were: Fullback Ben Guidugli Wide receivers Brandon Collins (who faces a four-game NFL suspension at the beginning of the season) and Terrence Sinkfield Tight ends Jamie Childers and Chase Clement Offensive linemen Michael Jasper and Austin Holtz Linebackers Jake Muasau and Etienne Sabino Defensive tackle Frank Okam Defensive Backs Laron Scott, Junior Mertile and Alonzo Tweedy. Curry, the fourth overall selection in the 2009 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks, was trying to revive his career with the Giants. He played in just two games last season for the Oakland Raiders. Curry had slipped behind Kyle Bosworth on the depth chart as the second-team strongside linebacker. Bosworth had seven tackles and two quarterback hits in extended action vs. the Jets. The only other veteran in the group of released players was Okam, who had played in 25 games with six starts for Houston and Tampa Bay from 2008-2011. The Giants will take the current 75-man roster to New England for the final preseason game Thursday night in Gillette Stadium. All NFL teams must reach the regular-season 53-man roster limit by 6 p.m. eastern time on Saturday. Okam gone as well. Wasnt WR Collins a fan favorite at camp as well? JMFP
I was pulling for him to make it. Then again, this was Reese's linebacker strategy? Sweet Baby James, Reese utterly sucks when it comes to finding linebackers.
BlueInCanada
Was he 98?....if so, he was beaten badly on that TD pass from Geno Smith....pretty sure he was supposed to be covering the middle. I was pulling for him to make it. Then again, this was Reese's linebacker strategy? I think it was bringing in a LB who out of college was considered the best LB in the draft and giving him a chance to show he can play up to that level. If not cut his ass and move on. If not cut his ass and move on. That really worked out. But have no fear......there's word on the street that a guy who works at the deli department in the Ramsey NJ Pathmark played some Division II linebacker......Reese is bringing him in for a workout. Fingers crossed.

Not to mention if he did return to his "first round talent" then people would of been calling JR a genius.

Bigblue25
Curry announced his retirement today. Really hoping Strahan gets in the next five years. Hoping he won't have to compete with Curry...who should be a 1st ballot inductee

Hoping he won't have to compete with Curry...who should be a 1st ballot inductee Honestly, I knew he wasn't going to make the team in the first week he has here. Openly admitted to not trying very hard in the past, said he wasn't motivated by being labeled a "bust," and was icing his knees literally after every practice. Honestly, not sure if Carl Banks could make this roster.
