BleedinBlue
Here's what I really, really hate about the draft. There's a ten minute allotment for each team to make their pick. The team with the very first pick has spent the last 3 months making up their minds on who they're going to take...and then let the clock run for nearly the whole 10 minutes before making their announcement. The first 3 or 4 picks should be done in a matter of a few minutes, but they always seem to drag it out. I can understand it later in the draft while waiting for offers to trade picks, but the first few are known long in advance and any trades would've already been made. I'm hoping the Giants are on the clock before 10PM, but it wouldn't surprise me it won't be until after 11....all because teams dawdle when they don't have to! Lughead
Ralph Vacchiano @RVacchianoNYDN5m For what it's worth, one NFL source read my blog on the Giants' pick and texted me: "You underestimate their interest in Tyler Eifert".
BleedinBlue
One thing I like about this draft is that it's short on standout potential superstars, but the draft is loaded. There will be hig quality picks in the first 3 or 4 rounds. Hopefully...the Giants staff have their shit together and are going to give us an early Christmas present with a stocking full of very good players that will be with us for years!!! Tennessee Titans – Lane Johnson, OT, Oklahoma 11. San Diego Chargers – Chance Warmack, OG, Alabama 12. Miami Dolphins – Bjoern Werner, DE, Florida State 13. New York Jets – Barkevious Mingo 14. Carolina Panthers – Tavon Austin, WR, WVU 15. New Orleans Saints – Jarvis Jones, OLB, Georgia 16. St Louis Rams – Jonathan Cooper, OG, UNC 17. Pittsburgh Steelers – Xavier Rhodes, CB, FSU 18. Dallas Cowboys – Kenny Vaccaro, FS, Texas 19. NY Giants – Sheldon Richardson, DT, Missouri 20. Chicago Bears – Sylvester Williams, DT, UNC 21. Cincinatti Bengals – Cordarrelle Patterson, WR, Tennessee 22. St. Louis Rams – Tyler Eifert, TE, Notre Dame 23. Minnesota Vikings – Desmond Trufant, CB, Washington 24. Indianapolis Colts – DJ Fluker, OT, Alabama 25. Minnesota Vikings – Datone Jones, DE, UCLA 26. Green Bay Packers – Jamar Taylor, CB, Boise St 27. Houston Texans – Justin Hunter, WR, Tennessee 28. Denver Broncos – Eddie Lacy, RB, Alabama 29. New England Patriots – Matt Elam, SS, Florida 30. Atlanta Falcons – Cornelius Carradine, DE, FSU 31. San Francisco 49ers – DJ Hayden, CB, Houston 32. Allstarjim
Wow, posting from work here. I can't believe Cooper that early. You have to be Steve Hutchinson to go that early. REALLY THOUGHT Warmack would go first, but Bigblue25 was all over Cooper early on.
