Mr. P
Mike Garafolo @MikeGarafolo QB David Carr will remain with the Giants. Has agreed to re-sign as Eli Manning's backup.

osi724dasack
Carr is an elite backup for our team. Knows the system, looks great holding a clipboard and is much better then Painter at everything football related. I'm confident that if Eli pulled a hammy, Carr could step in and win a game. osi724dasack
Plus he's very mobile, which helps the scout team.
osi724dasack
Carr would have been a good QB if he don't get hit 200x a year for 5 years in Houston.
GorillaNJ
Guy is a capable back up... I do not think there is anyone who could be Eli's backup and win us a Super Bowl. But Carr knows the offense and I am sure could manage a few wins if need be.

Agreed...and glad you used the word "good" and not great or probowl or anything of that nature. He'd have been a solid starter, nothing more. But becuase he got his ass kicked repeatedly in Houston, he isn't anything more than a career backup at this point. Really is too bad for him. NightFire
Good because it seems the Giants have issues getting a backup QB that doesn't mysteriously get injured.

I always found that frustrating.....of all the occupations on the planet, 2nd string QB has to be the least hazardous.
