Allstarjim
This guy has a big leg. Accuracy could be an issue, but he can hit from 55, unlike Tynes. This is obviously not good for the Scottish community. I'm glad they are finally turning the page at that position. Yes, Tynes is a UFA.

I wouldn't be happy, either.

Tynes does seem to have found his accuracy but his big failing is definitely leg strength. He can barely hit the end zone of kickoffs. A big leg with no accuracy though is more useless unfortunately. JMFP
This. At the right price, I'd take back Ol' Larry. Buehler sounds like another Brad Daluiso. Do you remember Ali Haji Sheikh? For one magical season, The Sheikh ruled the Meadowlands.
Allstarjim
Give the new kid a chance before we throw some dirt on him. It's not like Larry was automatic this year anyway. I like Buehler, I think he'll be a definitive upgrade.

I like Buehler, I think he'll be a definitive upgrade. I'm all for a kicker competition this year. I also think there are a couple studs out there that could be drafted very late, or picked as UFAs.... Caleb Sturgis has a huge leg....if he's available in the later rounds, he'd be worth a look. Quinn Sharp will be around near the end of the draft, and maybe as an UFA....he's another guy that could nail touchbacks....and he's also a punter, so he could provide an emergency option for Weatherford. I just think it's fucking ridiculous that the Giants play in possibly the toughest place in the NFL to kick, and yet have a dude that pretty much puts the Giants at a disadvantage in their own stadium. "Wind blowing?....check. Below freezing?....check.......opponent's 34 yard line?.....okay, let's punt." Tynes belongs in a dome.....we need someone like Robbie Gould of the Bears. Oddly enough it's not the leg so much as it's the abdominal (core body) strength.
Tempest
Well ok great we have another kicker. So this new kicker who was a kickoff specialist for the Dallas Cowboys who play for the most part in a dome is going to be competition for the current free agent kicker? Are we building him a dome? Imagine how much money we'd save on kickers the next 25 years if we just built a fucking dome. Hell we might even get the super bowl again after 2014. It's time for a change. he was kicking well earlier this season and yet you just felt no confidence in him.
