Lughead
@PFF_Pete Michael Boley's @PFF grades: +6.1 in 2010, -0.8 in 2011, -8.8 in 2012. 550 yards allowed in coverage was 5th-most of all 4-3 OLB this yr.

Mr. P
Played well for us but his cap number and being in the last year of the contract means this move makes sense.

Mr. P
I hear more moves may be on the way. They have to be, we're still like 10mil over the cap.
Mr. P
Thank you for everything Boley!! You were a very good Giant. Wait, Boley is a member of sportswrath?
Mr. P
If I had to bet, Webster and/or Diehl could be next.
Lughead
If I had to bet, Webster and/or Diehl could be next. Canty is also holding a heavy contract.
osi724dasack
P2 with this cut we are even with the cap. And that counts T2s roster bonus. So we should be 4 million under the cap if I'm not mistaken.
Mr. P
IF the '13 cap is $120.9M, they were actually over by about $10.1M before the Boley transx.
Storm
Solid move...not totally unexpected, either.
boohyah
Thank you for everything Boley!! You were a very good Giant. He had 1-2 decent years, and this year wasn't one of them.
Herc
he wasn't great but he was good during a superbowl run and for that i'll always like him
osi724dasack
Yea agreed he was great during the SB run. He was very good early this year but then fell apart. He was bad his first year here. P2 we have different cap Info, I'll try to find my source.
BlueInCanada
He played solid for us at a position of neglect for the last 10 seasons, obviously one of the reasons we got the fourth Lombardi. Helps clear up cap space and maybe gives the FO some incentive to invest some actual talent into the LB position.
TrashTalker92
Thanks boley!! Great player that still has gas in the tank. He'll get sign by another team very soon.
mastershake
Suitable replacements, or simply filling in our gaping holes at LB, without killing our cap: DeAndre Levy Justin Durant Nick Roach Brad Jones Jasper Brinkley Philip Wheeler Leroy Hill Rocky McCintosh Higher priced: Dannell Ellerbe
osi724dasack
Thomas Howard is a guy I think the Giants will pursue for cheap.
GorillaNJ
Fucker beats his autistic kid... And was never an impact player. He was a solid player but you would think with those DE he played behind he could have really caused havoc
Treehugger
he wasn't great but he was good during a superbowl run and for that i'll always like him This. He was an important piece of that Lombardi run.
gmenroc
I'm sure the Giants have something in mind...you don't release a player without a plan to replace him...regardless of the cap. Yes, you have to make moves to get under the cap, but you still have to prepare to make that move...meaning having the next player lined up to take his place. Boley served us well, in the same way AP served us well coming in from Washington.
Nas
Suitable replacements, or simply filling in our gaping holes at LB, without killing our cap: DeAndre Levy Justin Durant Nick Roach Brad Jones Jasper Brinkley Philip Wheeler Leroy Hill Rocky McCintosh Higher priced: Dannell Ellerbe As mentioned not unexpected at all... I highly doubt Webster is next but I suspect a restructuring is in order or at least would be suggest before termination. I think we already have an adequate replacement on the roster... but we need a stud LB to bring that group up to speed.

P2 we have different cap Info, I'll try to find my source. my 'sources' are the giants writers. Boley was due $4.25 million in 2013, and cutting him will save the Giants $4.5 million in salary-cap space. The 2013 salary cap hasn’t been announced yet, but it is projected to be the same as it was in 2012 (about $121 million) and the Giants are believed to still be over that number even after the Boley move. http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/football/giants/giants-part-ways-lb-boley-seasons-article-1.1256210
