Another year, another mid-season slump.

Seriously. Like clockwork, every fucking year this team pulls this shit.

I have no idea at this point who to blame, but it's amazing. This team just flat-out sucks from November until the last two weeks of December every year.

People say the Giants are inconsistent, but their record in the second half of the season consistently sucks balls.

This I lay at the feet of the coaches...their schemes get found out and they have an inability to adjust...so they just keep trying to treat each problem as a nail and keep hammering away. So unless the other team has an equally stubborn and non-innovative coaching staff (specifically coordinators) then we are able to beat those teams. That tied in with the inevitable injuries, coupled with the dubious practice of playing hurt players either too soon; in meaningless pre-season games; or in meaningful games where a second stringer or rookie who is healthy would be better. It was inexcusable that Snee was playing; it was inexcusable that Nicks was rushed back; last year it was KP; it was criminal not to have Wilson out there for at least one half of the running back snaps. That coupled with the tragic injuries to Andre Brown and Locklear spelled our doom. Tie in playing a DE who is clue less against the run...one DT who is useless (Bernard) and another who was hurt (Canty) ...a broken down Tuck; double teamed JPP...and Kiwi being mediocre at LB when he is stellar at DE...spelled disaster for the defense. That coupled with the overall uselessness of the Offensive (Run and Shoot...more like Chuck and Duck)...and Defensive (Tampa Two...shades of Rod Rust's Read and React) schemes were recipes for disaster. That we had a pair of dynamic WR's last year covered up a lot of our deficiencies.

Very well said.

As you mentioned, this team leaned too hard on run-down vets, and neglected rookies that should have been rushed to the front when injuries hit.

There were a few losses that we just more brutal than others....

Philly game: The idiotic pass play to Barden when the Giants were already in FG range....the penalty pushed the FG outside of Tynes weak leg.

Redskins game: Redskins pass defense was completely helpless......but Killdrive snatches defeat from the jaws of victory by avoiding the Redskins Achilles Heel and instead going run-heavy. Jerry Reese's policy of dumpster-diving for linebackers is exposed as the Redskins trample the Giants run defense.

Cincy: A complete no-show by pretty much everyone.

Pittsburgh: Killdrive and Fewell combine to brainfart their way from a 10 point 4th quarter lead to a deflating loss.

Atlanta: Killdrive introduces Giants fans to his "Lumpkin Attack".

Baltimore: Wilson scores to make the game 14-7....Killdrive, sensing how dangerous Wilson might be, decides to replace him with Bradshaw, who rides in from the sidelines on a Rascal. The offense promptly disappears with Wilson for the rest of the game.

Killdrive would be a master carpenter if all he had to do was hammer some nails into a board. And then to hear all of the commentators lay this at the feet of the players alone is just circling the wagons around their peers like Coughlin and the coordinators. Ridiculous...plus we had two years of high intensity football...we played more games than anyone else except for the Patriots...most of them games where our teams fate would be decided yea or nay. That with a very quiet team leadership condemned us to mediocrity. I want to kill that Flozell Faggot...because prior to Tuck's separated shoulder he was unstoppable... now he is a shell of himself...I think a walk on at his position could outplay him at this time. Just so disappointing from the Pittsburgh loss...the first game in the bag loss to Filthy...and the Native American Epithet loss all stand out...where anyone of them in the win column and we are playing this coming Sunday.
