BronxRik
Having a gameday thread archive? I figured it would be handy to go back to for argument's sake during the season, but does anyone really use it?
jranieli
I like the idea, at least keeping things there for search purposes.
gmenroc
I like the idea, but methinks that keeping them for a season would be long enough. Accumulate a season's worth, keep for the offseason, dump when the new season kicks off, repeat.

Treehugger
No. Those threads are tough to follow since we tend to comment on plays.... This. They're hard to follow the next day, let alone weeks or months later.

This was the original idea behind it, and yes, I was thinking of clearing out the old one and starting a fresh one, but I wanted opinions before I did so. While they're not the easiest read, it's fun to read fan reaction to individual plays...especially when you might miss a game. Beat reading the play by play...Bradshaw up the middle for 5 yards....Bradshaw run right for 3 yards...etc. Reading comments on a specific play gives a little more insight into what actually happened on the play as opposed to the vagueness of a play by play recap you'll find on box scores and whatnot. Certainly don't keep it around or go through the effort for just my liking, but thought I'd give a bit on why I kinda like those things.
fringe
The knee jerk reactions are good for a goof after the game. Not for eternity.
Dragon
I say keep them for the season. Special cases like Super Bowls should be kept forever just to remind us how it felt as we were winning.

Lughead
I would like to keep the seasons in an archive some where
Virginia Giant
I check them out once in a while when the off season news was slow, just to relive some of the grander moments.
Tempest
I think keeping them would be good as a reference. If clutter is a concern maybe create an archive forum where people can read them.
BronxRik
There should now be the Giants section with the archives under it, and the 2010 + 2011 seasons in the archive section. Is that what you guys see now?

In all honesty I never even bothered going into one just because it seems like a waste. The only way that something like that would work is if was a live chat. Like old school AOL. The only way that something like that would work is if was a live chat. Like old school AOL. The actual gameday threads are fun, but nothing like the old chat we used to have (either here or on the GMB). For you guys back East where you can see the games all the time without fail, I can see where chat would be better vs. a gameday thread. But for us displaced fans, it's a few hours where we can keep in touch with our Gmen brethren during a game.
