Mr. P
Having lost three cornerbacks already during training camp to season-ending injuries and another for six weeks, the Giants today moved to bolster the position. They will sign veteran cornerback Brian Williams, according to a person informed of the move. The person requested anonymity because team hasn't yet announced the signing. Williams worked out for the Giants today with three other players, including former Jets and Eagles cornerback Lito Sheppard and Dre' Bly. Williams is seen by the Giants as a player who can step into a backup role and learn the playbook quickly. Perhaps equally important is Williams' durability. Only once in his nine year career, in 2009, has he played in fewer than 14 games. Williams spent last season as a reserve cornerback with the Atlanta Falcons, starting once. In 128 career games with the Minnesota Vikings, Jacksonville Jaguars and Falcons, Williams has started 99 times. Williams' best season came in 2003 with the Vikings, who picked him in the fourth round of the 2002 NFL Draft out of North Carolina State. In 2003, Williams started 16 games, had five interceptions, 16 passes defensed and made 63 tackles. http://www.nj.com/giants/index.ssf/2011/08/giants_to_sign_brian_williams.html#nyg TC confirms Brian Williams' addition. http://twitter.com/#!/NotoriousOHM

TrashTalker92
I'm sure if LITO is good enough they will snatch him up with the quickness. Let's hope TC can turn the ship around and give us a good lineup for the season. Why am I always stating the no brainer!?!?!?
BIGBLUE01
OK, cool. Williams can add some good experience at the position. And he seems pretty durable. If they sign Sheppard Ill be OK. Those 2 at least make me feel comfy at CB, especially with our 2 starters.
