What the draft says to me so far...

Prince Amukamara - "holy shit, Dez Bryant is GOOD..."

Marvin Austin - "Barry, are you staying? Going? Don't know? What about you, Rocky? Chris?"

Jerrel Jernigan - "time to show us something, Barden, or you're getting the 'Moss Treatment."

Agree with the first two but Barden lines up wide and Jernigan will operate mostly out of the slot. As a receiver, I think it's more like, "Steve, how's the knee coming along"? And as return man, it's, "and Dominick, how's yours"?

Prince - Aaron Ross has never come back from injuries....ala Jason Sehorn + just a great value at that point

Marvin - looking for pressure up the middle to help out our DEs. Again, lots of value at the pick

Jerrel - return game....didn't fully get this pick. Seems a lot like the Cruz guy from preseason last year.

All said, I like the draft a lot. The WR pick was sketchy I think. Might rather have gone Oline or LBer at that point. Not sure who was available though in the 3rd.

with Jerrel we got our own dynamic receiver, I loved it. Next time we are beating the snot out of Philly, instead of running three straight draws and giving back the ball to Vick. We will throw a quick slant to Jernigan, who has the ability to take it to the house everytime he touches it.

Prince is a good pick. I can see him and CWeb manning the corners for a few years.

Austin, I did not get. Even if Cofield leaves, we still got Linval to plug in there. But depth at DT aint the worst thing.

JERRIGAN???? Didnt get this at all.

Good pick??? It's a freakin GREAT pick.

In this pass-happy league with 3 and 4 WR sets, there is no such thing as enough backfield help....especially in the NFC East. Running backs are used almost exclusively just to keep the defense honest anymore. And RB's usually have a very short career because of the beatings they take.

Rotating linemen and keeping fresh legs makes a lot of sense to me. If Austin lives up to his billing, he'll be stuffing the line from the run and force the opposing linemen to pay added attention to him...even doubling him sometimes. Which means the ends will not be able to be doubled as often.

JERRIGAN???? Didnt get this at all.

No one knows when Smith will be back on the field. Perhaps he'll miss the entire season this year (as could all players if these morons don't settle their dispute soon). Jernigan is a playmaker and a half, especially in the slot. And he's got wheels and moves after the catch. You'll learn to like this pick alot if he's half what is being said about him.

Prince Amukamara, best player on the board no question. Not even going to explain that one.

Marvin Austin: Hell yes take him, Barry Cofield is walking this year and Rocky Bernard is still here. Linval played half the season and spent the other half warming a bench. We're taking another defensive lineman because we still haven't seen enough of LInval Joseph to expect him to take over anytime soon.

Jerrel Jernigan was drafted with the intent to improve our special teams. It will be awhile before you see him lining up in the slot.

I saw James Brewer, read his review and got a flashback of Guy Whimper.

Greg Jones, another special teams pickup.

this is what I said on another board. He is soft, the only picked I didn't like after getting out my draft guides and re reading about him. I have a feeling he never sees the field. Marcus Cannon was there too, Cannon could of played LG right away for us. I had Cannon has a last first/early second prospect. Cannon shut down J.J Watt in the Rose Bowl, Watt was the 11th overall pick. We passed on him for some reason, it's the one pick I wish we could of taken back.

What this draft says to me.

JR still knows his shit.

The more time goes by, the happier I am with these picks.

Austin is high risk/reward.....but, if he is as disruptive as people claim, this could be a huge steal.

People are saying the G-Men got 2 of the top 15 players in the draft....probably a stretch, but I'm excited.

Prince was a top ten pick that fell to us, if Austin didnt get suspended for a year Mike Mayock had him going in the top 15 if not the top ten.

Trust what people say, the Giants got easily the top steal(s) of the draft.

Cannon has cancer, so he's probably not going to do much next season. But if all goes well with treatment, he can be a pro bowl caliber lineman in 2012 and for a long time afterwards. Seeing as just about any 4th round pick is probably going to take at least a year to develop, however, I think the Giants could've gone with Cannon and it would've been a pick I would be more excited about. The risk with him is that the cancer is very aggressive, worse than they initially thought, he doesn't respond to treatment, or he has a re-occurrence further down the line. I think his upside was worth carrying those risks.

Johnny White was another player I thought presented great value, and I would've preferred we grabbed him. I like White, I think he can be a franchise running back.

As for Jernel Jerrigan, or Jerrel Jernigan, I can never get it right, he could end up being Wes Welker or he could end up being Sinorice Moss. Or perhaps something in between, just a plus return specialist with little receiver value like Ted Ginn, Jr. I'm inclined to think it will be the latter.

I can't complain about the draft, because the first two rounds were ideal for us. Things happened just as I was hoping, with an early run on QB's and pass rushers, and in the second, another semi-run on QB's with some real talented players falling, allowing us to get two premier defensive players. But the third round went terrible for us, I feel. Here are some players that went between pick #65 (first pick of the 3rd rd) and #83 (our pick):

Dontay Moch (#66) - enormous athleticism could've finally solved linebacker problems

DeMarco Murray (#71) - I think he's going to be an absolute stud, another playmaker for the Cowboys

Martez Wilson (#72) - after Moch, I coveted this linebacker the most.

John Moffitt (#75), William Rackley (#76) - two fantastic interior linemen prospects

Leonard Hankerson (#79), almost as fast as Jernigan, but has 6'2", 210 size.

I would've done back flips if just one of those guys fell to us in the 3rd and we took him. There were a couple of others in the round I think can be very good pros that I didn't include, like Jurell Casey, Justin Houston, and Stevan Ridley.

Getting Tyler Sash in the 6th round is amazing. As impressive as it was getting Amukamara and Austin where we did, I think grabbing Sash with a comp pick at the end of the 6th is flat out THE steal of them all.

Prince was just too good to pass up... and Ross is injured all the time.

Austin replaces Rocky on the roster..

Jernigan replaces all the no names we had returning kicks/punts.
