Lubeck
The Giants' receiving corps is about to be further depleted. Hakeem Nicks will be out of action with a lower leg injury, according to two people with knowledge of the health of the Giants' leading receiver. The people requested anonymity because all injury reports are to be officially announced by Giants coach Tom Coughlin. The exact nature of the injury and the timetable for Nicks' recovery are unclear, but Coughlin is set to speak with reporters this afternoon. Nicks has had a few ankle injuries this season, but nothing so severe that it has knocked him out of action. Nicks has a team-high 62 catches for 800 yards and nine touchdowns. He had six catches for 65 yards Sunday night against the Eagles. The loss of Nicks would be the second big blow to Eli Manning's reservoir of targets. Steve Smith is out, likely until early next month, with a partially torn pectoral muscle.

Sephiroth
Gee... roaring off to a fast start, then hitting a mid-season slump where injuries and turnovers doom our team. Didn't see that one coming.
fishgutmartyr
2004--multiple safeties, defensive line 2005--linebackers 2006--defensive line, again 2007--no concentration of injuries in any position, SB 2008--defensive line (Osi out for season, both Cofield and Robbins needing surgery right after season) 2009--RBs, defensive backfield, dline all playing less than 100% 2010--oline (specifically, center), WRs Gee, why do we fade in the second half of our seasons? It's not even the severity of them, or the number (other teams have more guys out than us), but they seem to hit one position every year, and almost nowhere else. We have 3 WRs on IR, two with important roles and Cruz with more potential than Duke Calhoun. Two of our starting three are out for who knows how long. The only guy left that we knew we'd have from the beginning of training camp is Manningham.
Herc
it's always all about who has the least injuries. an 18 game season is going to make the nfl even more of a crapshoot than it already is. we didnt need 32 fucking teams

Lughead
This team is like a fucking Greek tragedy. Not sounding Good at all The Giants signed Derek Hagan last week, and the veteran receiver contributed with a touchdown. He’s likely a starter this week, but the Giants won’t find another free agent with a similar understanding of the offense. The Giants are also expected to feature tight Travis Beckum more at wide receiver, and Coughlin said the team will consider moving other players into offensive packages. Safety Antrel Rolle volunteered. Return specialist Darius Reynaud also has receiver experience. “We got some young guys who got to step up,” quarterback Eli Manning said. “Obviously having Derek here last week will help, he’ll have another week. Mario is going to have a big week. We’re going to have to get these tight ends into the mix with Boss and Beckum, athletic guys. "And we’re going to have to be creative with some formations and personnel and get some of these young guys, whether it’s Duke Calhoun or someone else, they know what they’re doing and see whats they do well.”

JMFP
The scramble is what pissed me off the most.....and the obsession with throwing towards Asante Samuel was strange, to put it mildly. Eli had a poor game....so did Bradshaw, and Dodge fucking pissed me off. The Defense was playing so well, the Giants could have won that game if the offense and special teams didn't get in the way. We had two starting wide receivers and an oline that played very well for being piece meal. I saw Michael Vick taking chances all over the field and not throwing any picks. He had olineman down. In a game where Eli had to bring his A game, he brought his D- game.

Can't say I can disagree with you. If I played the Giants, I'd rush the punter on every play...when he's not shanking it, he's bouncing the ball off the ground.. ksm7
you're saying the OLINE opened holesfor the running game? hmm guess i need new tv. but brandon jacobs is big and strong and runs over everyone and and and...if anybody bothered to watch jacobs objectively last night, and still wants to argue that he has a shred of physicality in his oversized, overrated physique, then they need more than a new tv...total aside to the o-line play, but still, he was just plain embarrassing, and has been for many a year... Fuck Ashante dickhead.. that scum. He's NOT as talented as people thing... he's overhyped. The INT was Manning's fault because the throw was inaccurate and too low. Manning should learn to aim at the receivers head.
