Mr. P
The Giants received some bad news on Friday as DE/LB Mathias Kiwanuka was diagnosed with a bulging cervical disc in his neck. Kiwanuka, who complained of neck stiffness after Thursday’s practice, was sent to the hospital for special Surgery in New York for a MRI and consultation with team physician Dr. Russell Warren, who consulted with Dr. Frank Camisssa, the spinal specialist at the HSS. Based on the initial examination and tests, it’s unclear when and how Kiwanuka suffered this injury. The initial prognosis is for Kiwi to avoid contact with his head and neck, which means Kiwanuka will be out indefinitely until the injury quiets down. “It's disappointing. It just feels like a stiff neck,” said Kiwanuka in a statement released by the team. “The pain is not intolerable but I want to make sure that I will be okay down the line. I have full trust in the medical staff and the trainers at the Giants. I'm going to do everything that is asked of me so when I'm cleared I'll be back and ready to go.” There is no timetable on the recovery, which varies from case to case, as does the treatment for such an injury. http://trainathought.insidefootball.com/2010/10/kiwanuka-develops-neck-issue-out-indefinitely.html

Treehugger
Our D is ranked 4th in pass defense and we have options at DE, I don't think we're done by a long shot.
