hlb37
I think we will keep 6 + DeOssie ( in a specialist spot ) 57 Blackburn, Chase 59 Boley, Michael 53 Bulluck, Keith 51 DeOssie, Zak 49 Dillard, Phillip 54 Goff, Jonathan 55 Kehl, Bryan 52 Sintim, Clint 58 Wilkinson, Gerris Dare I say it? We may have seen the last of the mighty Chase Blackburn. My guess is Kehl and Wilkinson are on the bubble as well.
NightFire
I don't think Blackburn will be cut for a few years. He can play all LB spots, doesn't constantly get injured and plays well on special teams. He may not be a super star but quality backups are just as important as starters. I'd say Kehl and Wilkinson are more likely to go before Blackburn.

Treehugger
How do you see the depth chart? Boley, Goff, Bulluck Sintim, Dillard, Wilkinson? Not sure where Blackburn and Kehl fit but I thin Blackburn sticks because of his ST play.

Allstarjim
Picking the best Giants Linebackers is like voting in a national election. You got to pick somebody. It will be tough to cut both Wilkinson and Kehl. I think one of them will be Boley's primary backup, and I think this is nearly a dead heat. I've always liked Kehl, but I think he's in trouble if Wilkinson outplays him tonight. This is the toughest of all position groups to predict. I'm assuming that Boley, Bulluck, Goff, Sintim, and Blackburn are stone cold locks. And of course DeOssie, who shouldn't even be in the conversation anymore because he is now strictly a special-teamer. In 2009, however, the Giants carried 8 linebackers on the 53 man roster, to include DeOssie. I'm going to say they will do that again, with the lone cut being Kehl or Wilkinson. How does Goff earn a starting spot or a back up for criissakes? He's tenative and does not attack the ball This guy has shown less than nothing...........he might....... GULP! be actually worse than Pierce the obvious move last year was for the Giants to trade up for Matthews or Cushing It was as obvious as the nose on Reese's face ..... I think our LB's will be fine. I'm more concerned with the interior line overall, and CB depth. I think we'll see Linval Joseph starting pretty quickly. Allstarjim
if im the coach the one i cut is wilkinson. He's not playing tonight and I think that is bad news for him. Kehl needs to show up and play well. If he does, I think it makes it an easy decision for TC.
Tempest
If we applied the same formula to linebackers as we do to the defensive line, we'd have one linebacker playing till the draft next year when everyone waits expectantly and equally disappointed with the next pick at linebacker. I'd put Dodge in as a backup linebacker at this point since he shares the same "intangibles" as the rest of the linebacker core. Doesn't matter who makes in that group, just realize they take the roster space of a better player at another position.

They ought to see if he can block and carry a football, and turn him into another Larry Czonka. Kehl, Goff, and Calhoun impressed me enough to at least make the roster. hlb37
I think Kehl is definitely gone. He made a play in goal line D in the second half but I saw him flub to kick coverages. The one right after our openning drive was horrific. Totally froze then wiffed on the return man. cost us 40+ yards. Wilkinson hurt himself by not playing though. Only thing Kehl has going for him at the moment.

hlb37
I loved Banks' comment after one missed tackle last night; "The safety ran up there like he wanted his autograph". Banks is the man. I loved his indictment of Thomas when he missed a tackle in the backfield after coming free on a blitz, "You have to want to hit that guy. For me that was a free steak". Ditto
Cruz or Calhoun. You can't have both! From what little I've seen so far, my money's Calhoun. I like his speed after catching the ball, and his one arm tackle on sp teams. Cruz? I don't know. I like his oomph, but he seems like one of those guys that will always beat us with mistakes. BleedinBlue
From what little I've seen so far, my money's Calhoun. I like his speed after catching the ball, and his one arm tackle on sp teams. Man, after he caught that pass and turned on the afterburners - he was gone. Really fast. Too bad he wasn't groomed for punt returns. My only concern with him is that he doesn't seem to have soft hands. Cruz? I don't know. I like his oomph, but he seems like one of those guys that will always beat us with mistakes. I like Cruz more than Calhoun because he seems to have fly paper hands, even though he did drop a daisy last night. I can't forget that one handed catch a couple of weeks ago when he was being smothered by the corner. Whoever gets cut (or goes to the practice squad) will be picked up immediately by another team.
