Money
Ladies and gentleman, it is officially that time of year! As promised, I will be conducting another interactive mock draft this year. I organized a mock draft on Giants.com last year, and although I consider it to have been a success, there were several problems. As such, I have completely restructured the format of the draft in order to circumvent those problems. Based on both research into other mock drafts and suggestions from members of this message board, the draft will operate according to a specific schedule (outlined below). The schedule itself is pretty self-explanatory, and while it seems overly regimented, this was necessary change. And yes, I -- the same gentleman who drafted Lofa Tatupu in last year's mock -- will be reprising my role as Giants GM. You can all breathe a collective sigh of relief. Some general guidelines (PLEASE READ CAREFULLY!): - All GMs must PM me and/or my assistants (Barens, Frank Grimes, and Pizan) a small draft board (1-16 players, depending on where you pick) prior to the days in which you are scheduled to pick. Communication is huge part of any successful mock. - If you do not contact any of us and you miss your pick, then I will use a generic draft board to make your selection. - If you do PM me and you miss your pick, then you will automatically select the highest player available on your draft board. In other words, you will get the player you would have taken. That's why it is absolutely imperative that you contact me or at least one of my assistants prior to the days you are scheduled to pick! - If you anticipate that you may not be available to make a selection, no worries. That's why the schedule is in place; it allows you to plan ahead. Just send me a list of players to take in case you have to attend to other obligations. - No trading. Period. End of discussion. - All GMs are responsible for knowing when they are scheduled to pick. I will send you a PM on the day in which you are scheduled to pick as a reminder. But from there, you are on your own, so please make note of when your selections are due. - All GMs must either respond to this thread OR send me a PM by the end of Friday, March 31 to confirm their participation in this mock draft. If a GM fails to confirm by that day, then I will give their team to someone else. - Currently there is only no vacancies, however, some GMs may decide to drop out or fail to confirm their participation. In that circumstance, vacancies will be filled on a first-come first-serve basis. If anyone wishes to participate, but all spots are filled, please contact me and I will place you on a waiting list. If another GM drops out, then you will take their place. - Lastly, here are a couple useful draft websites that should be helpful during this process: NFL Draft Countdown NFL Fans The Huddle Report 2006 Interactive Mock Draft General Managers Dallas Cowboys – Currency New York Giants – Money Philadelphia Eagles – Go_Eli Washington Redskins – Giants 2 SB XLI Chicago Bears – Blue_Jeans Detroit Lions – Exit 117 Green Bay Packers – Hound Minnesota Vikings – Giants1027 Atlanta Falcons – K3VIN Carolina Panthers – Lockhart & The Fab Four New Orleans Saints – Pizan Tampa Bay Buccaneers – CharlesShowMeTheWay Arizona Cardinals – Frank Grimes San Francisco 49ers – Osi724dasack Seattle Seahawks – Armstead98 St. Louis Rams – xxi-xxv Buffalo Bills – uconngiants Miami Dolphins – GiantsRevival New England Patriots – Motes New York Jets – speed_kills Baltimore Ravens – gateb Cincinnati Bengals – RaginCaucasian Cleveland Browns – shockjock Pittsburgh Steelers – jranieli Houston Texans – Big Pete Indianapolis Colts – Plax 4 Prez Jacksonville Jaguars – Storm Tennessee Titans – The Lizard King Denver Broncos – jambrosio Kansas City Chiefs – NeMesiS Oakland Raiders – Barens San Diego Chargers – Goliath Draft Order / The Schedule *All times are PM, Eastern Standard Time Round 1 Monday, April 10 1. Guest Lockhart
Sure. Between you, Nutty, Floyd, and nosebleed ... who is the GM? Who is the leader? We have a round table at the Fabulous FAB 4 Fortress - anyone of us may be contacted with information. do not worry about timely draft9ing as one of us will be readily available - I would suggest mesagges to Nutty and myself if the commissioner feels the necessity.
