Virginia Giant
Clayton said talks between the Giants and Seahawks are getting pretty heated. We give them either our first and second round picks of 2008 OR our first round picks in both 2008 and 2009. Wow. For Trufant? I'd give a 1st, 3rd and next years second for him. Lubeck
For Trufant? I'd give a 1st, 3rd and next years second for him. I don't care how well the Eli trade seemingly worked out for us no more of these multi pick multi year trades.

I don't know who this Trufant guy is.. and I doubt he's a QB... nor do we need one. Sorry but I'm done giving up multiple picks especially when you still have to pay this guy a ton of money on top. Draft draft draft.. the end.

He is a corner from seattle, and a very good one at that. But it will cost to many picks to get him. And the way we have drafted the last couple of years, it would probably be a mistake to not continue on that path.
gateb
sorry i forgot to put him in the post. Yeah it's Trufant. Does the Seattle system parallel to ours that it'd be a good fit?

gateb
why does seattle want to move him? I guess because they feel they can't lock him up. He's under the tag right now.

Allstarjim
Trufant is one of the elite corners in the NFL. My thinking is that the Giants are going to hang on to Madison unless they pull off one of these deals. I think a first, this year's 3rd or 4th, and next year's 2nd should be plenty, and even then I'm not sure I want this deal. I still feel that with the way Webster played Moss in the SuperBowl, and the entire playoff run, that he can be that guy for us. On the other hand, we are pretty set at nearly every position with the exception of safety, so do we even need that many draft picks? We are mainly drafting for depth right now. Enviable position the Giants are in, either way you can look at it as a win. IMO, Trufant would be terrific in our system.
fringe
I don't think this Trufant talk has merit. Looks like it was started by a guy in Newsday and then all the usual blogs ran with it.
gateb
h if he's tagged isn't it a mandatory 2 round 1 picks? Not necessarily. If the team that tagged him would accept less than it can happen. Unless it is an exclusive tag, which Trufant didn't get I think.
