Jay Lesner
I KNOW! The Mets need him! They need to stop thinking so hard, and just grant him the fucking years. 4 years of greatness is SOOOO worth the 2 subpar years.
jranieli
hehe I am sweating over this. At least there is more time to do this. I gotta go shower and relax now.
RandolphScott
I don't understand this Mets management. They were willing to give Pedro Martinez a guarantee 4th year when NO ONE WOULD DO IT and whispers of a semi torn rotator cuff. Now they are bitching about giving a guaranteed 6th year to the best pitcher in baseball, WHEN EVERY ONE WOULD DO IT. Seriously Mets management, stop acting like a small market team when you aren't, AT ALL. Fuck you Freddy Coupons.
gateb
The Wilpons are trying to get every cent that they can out of these negotiations. They're playing hardball. They're hoping Johan's agent is a pussy. If not, he'll be getting his years and money. No worries it'll get done.
Jay Lesner
I hope it does get done. Johan is a great player, and will be worth the money that the Mets fork up. I can't wait to see how this turns out. This will probably be good, since every Met fan in the world has their thumbs up for this deal to go through. jranieli
It will get done. Rosenthall from MLB.com is saying on SNY that Santana is in the room now negotiating.

I also heard the deal is for 7 years with an option for an 8th.
jranieli
Possible chance that it can be extended an additional 2 hours if the deal is not done by 7. Dinner is being delivered to the negotiating room as we speak. It might be all nighter guys.

xxi-xxv
I heard this while sitting in the bat at newark last night. surronded by Yankee fans(few Met fans) I just smiled and said "this weekend is off to a good start". Anyway great move. Anyone that tells you they did not want this guy is lying, he is an absolute stud. best move the Mets have made since Piazza in 98. so-cal dub
I actually cant wait to see Johan light it up for you guys. New York will be on top this year in baseball as well. Providing my Yanks dont do it, wouldn't be awesome if the Mets mowed down Boston in WS? Two Boston teams choking...one after the other.

Ya gotta realize Dubby, they are the Mets and usually when expectations are high they shit on their fan base like Montezumas revenge(see last 17 games of 2007 season). Regardless, I sincerely hope they play well over 162 games and Johan becomes a must see pitch attraction that the Mets really have not had since Gooden(aside from the begining of the Pedro run here).
