feefifoefum
I have been looking forward to this series, because it is my chance to watch my favorite non Met, Jake Peavy ! However, this is the last team the Mets need to face right now. Our offense is struggling as it is, and now we get the Padres and their awesome staff. I still think we can win the series, because our pitching has been good lately too. I expect these games to be close, and they will come down to timely hitting, which is not a strong point for the Mets right now. You're going down, sucka!!! Herc
yeah i've been waiting all season, this is the NL litmus test for the pads even though young and germano wont be pitching. you can definitely win this series, you're the better team--but the best team doesn't always win and i just want to see where we stand with the elite competition this season. hopefully this will be an NLCS preview

Virginia Giant
I just ran your post through the BS Editor, here is what it came up as.. I have been looking forward to this series, because it is my chance to watch my favorite non Met, Jake Peavy I'm scared shitless of this series and I'm a closet Pads fan However, this is the last team the Mets need to face right now. Our offense is struggling as it is, and now we get the Padres and their awesome staff. I have zero confidence in my team's abilty right now and i wish Jose Reyes could play every position at the same time. Please don't ride me too hard when ya'll sweep us. I still think we can win the series, because our pitching has been good lately too. Obligatory pro Mets statement to try and show he hasn't lept from the bandwagon just yet. I expect these games to be close, and they will come down to timely hitting, which is not a strong point for the Mets right now. I hope to God we at least keep it within a half dozen runs, but I doubt it. You're going down, sucka!!! If the Pads sign a bat I'll be a lifelong Pads fan J/k PS: To all the short tempered Mets fans, the above was a joke aimed from one fan to another, it does not imply my true feelings toward that poster or any Mets fan. Oh, and yes, I know the Rangers are in last place.

Herc
haha,i dont know man, we didn't look sharp in the d-backs series and have our 2 worst starters going in this series. but yeah, when the pads DO sweep a team that's usually the total runs for the series

xxi-xxv
stop it! Ok sorry that was a bit over the top, but the Mets cannot hit the cows ass with a shovel at this point. I mean they just cannot hit. Not the team to be facing at this time for the Mets.

feefifoefum
Carlos Beltran is really pissing me off. He HAS to lead the league in groundouts to second base.
xxi-xxv
Game 2= Peavy does not throw a ball until the 5th inning and tosses a perfect game in 1 hour 37 minutes.
feefifoefum
Peavy wasn't his usual filthbag self last night. Still, it's a relief that we even scored off the guy. Would have been more, if not for Giles running down Wright's shot to right field in the first. Encouraging game for the offense. Delgado is still getting hits. I think there was even an RBI with two outs!!! Tonight, Maine rebounds. 4-1 Mets.
Herc
yeah i dont know how uch of that was peavy's sore bicep or the mets awesome lineup, probably a little bit of both. i fell asleep when it was 1-0 nothing so i really couldn't say but i should've known el duque would have a good game

And yet, you'll be the first one to cheer them when they make the playoffs. I'll wait for you to get on your soap box and tell me how you were a fan when the Mets were terrible and how much Mets knowledge you possess over me because frankly, I don't give a shit.
