NeMesiS
You know what's so funny about this conversation? That fact that I have you comparing games between a WR and a TE, and yet you still can't see that.

OK, let me dumb it down for you... Shockey first 5 year recieving yards: 3609 Ike's? 3199 Advantage: Shockey Shockey first 5 year catches total:314 Ike's: 232 Winner: Shockey again... Shockey first 5 year TD catches total:24 ike's: 19 Shockey wins again? how can that be? Here's the kicker...Shockey is a TE.
RandolphScott
I'm done arguing, fuck it. Next I'll have to prove how Frank Walker was one of the worst cornerbacks in Giants history. He ranks right up their with the likes of: Dave Thomas Emmanuel McDaniel Rocky Thompson and more I just can't remember.

Ike had Dave Brown and Danny Kannell throwing to him. 2. Ike was never the first target on throws. Much to your chagrin, Ike isn't bust, he didn't live up to his selection, but was still productive. Same could be said about Shockey, his bark has certainly been louder than his bite.

Storm
While Ike Hilliard wasn't worth the 7th overall pick, he was a decent player and Giant...he was a good possession wide receiver and I remember him converting a lot of third downs and tough catches, whether you disagree or not, Nem. gateb
I remember growing up and loving the way Ike played. He didn't rack up the numbers but that first down celebration of his was what I emulated until fucking Dawkins laid down the dirtiest hit I've ever seen. The pain only got worse when Stackhouse fumbled away another oppurtunity to get a big score while fumbling into the end zone at the half yard line. That game was miserable
JayD
Back to the subject, in no way is Smith going to replace Toomer this season. This is just a ploy to light a fire under Toomers ass.

JayD
why does Toomer need a fire lit under his ass? maybe his injury isn't healed 100% It never hurts to have extra incentive. If Smith was going to take Toomers spot cause of injury, thats what Reece would have said.

I wouldn't have If smith beats out Toomer and Moss,Jenkins and Mix show they are younger and faster Toomer has been in the league what 12 years? he could be next years trade bait. Wasn't Ike the one who caught a 4th down pass in the SB and incredibly carried 2 guys for the 1st down? Why are you guys arguing over this? We will all be delighted if Smith turns out as well as Ike and Amani. Keep in mind he was never the 1st receiver in college

Being fast doesnt nessesarily translate into being a good wr, otherwise Tim Carter would have been our #1. Toomer showed just how important he was to this team when he went down last year. 6-2, to 8-8 I hope Smith does great. I hope he eventualy becomes a great wr for us. But no way does he take the #2 spot from Toomer. Thinking about it though, Imagine Toomer as the 3rd option? SICK
gateb
I too thought Ike was a servicable reciever, but I cannot recall a 'signature' 1st down celebration. How did it go? Pops up and points first down in the direction he caught it. Very common in the NFL, but he does it as often as Perez does his hop over the foul line (everytime he got a first down) He probably still does it with Tampa. Money
First, Benton is an idiot. Second, the only way Steve Smith replaces Toomer this year is if Amani isn't healthy enough to play. I like Steve, but I'm not even ready to put him ahead of Sinorice Moss...
Money
I did... Everyone knew who he was. My first choice was Walter Jones (Excuse me for a minute...FUCK YOU SEATTLE!!!) But then I wanted Tony Gonzalez. I also wanted the Giants to trade down to get Yatil Green. Isn't hindsight fun?
