Blue Jeans
Mike Pelfrey, who had been pitching for Mesa of the AFL, has been shut down because of what the Mets call general soreness. This after Philip Humber was pulled out of the league last week with shoulder tendinitis. "It’s nothing major," GM Omar Minaya said of Pelfrey and Humber. "If you get little aches and pains this late in the year, why not shut them down?" The Mets are one of the teams that cannot be taken at face value when commenting on injuries. That said, there probably isn't anything seriously wrong with Pelfrey. Humber's problem is more of a concern.
gateb
Big guys like Pelfrey get me worried in terms of injuries. Randy Johnson had his share of problems during his career.
Blue Jeans
It's minor... I'd have to say if this were the season he may skip a start and be back. He might play through it.
