  1. While the Flushing faithful will always remember him as a Met, wasn't he on the last Card WS Championship team? He was already going to be in the stadium to call the game I dont see it as sacrilege to be on the field for what ever ceremony. Even with that said I will now boycott
  2. I dont know a young coach comes in with very little pre-conceived notions about what the QB should and shouldnt do. I think a young coach would be more likely to work with the tools that Eli brings to the game. Plus he could be groomed to replace Gil as OC when he and TC are out on their asses within 2 years.
  3. ITs a good thing they did not look for a young QB coach out of the college ranks with some new innovative ideas, we should always stick with some old dude who has had limited success and experience with our DH of a HC.
  4. I am glad that they went outside of the team for a DC. The LBs for the Egirls was a quality squad that was a blitz happy team. I am a little concerned about an ex-Eagle as a coach but it might help in game planning.

    Coughlin

The other one her face was all shadowed out and I couldnt get it to look even close. To boot I didnt save it except for the JPG... so I think it is a lost cause.

I am still trying to figure out the face fade, but this is funny enough

Hey Nesta... can you do a tutorial on that fade in face in the graphics session? That would be awsome
  9. Airing it out with a vertical passing game will open up the run by keeping the safeties back and forceing a LB into coverage against Shockey. The key is they have to run and pass downfield out of the same package
  10. Jerry Reese says the cupboard he inherited is by no means bare. "Ernie [Accorsi] has left us with a strong core of players," Reese said at Tuesday's news conference introducing him as Giants general manager. "Even with all the injuries and the bad situations that happened to us this season, our team is good enough to still be playing right now." Reese concedes there are some "hot spots" he must address if the Giants are to be playing at this time next season. Here is a preliminary look at the Giants by position, with the real "hot spots" in capital letters. Quarterback: Maybe the time has come to put a little heat on Eli Manning. Securing a veteran intent on competing for the starting job could light a little fire under the struggling Manning. Problem is there won't be too many of those veterans available. Kerry Collins probably wants no part of returning, and it's doubtful the Eagles will let Jeff Garcia hit the market. Ditto the Chiefs with Damon Huard. RUNNING BACK: Brandon Jacobs says he's ready to become the every-down back, but there will be a need for a companion runner. Dominic Rhodes of the Colts, Chris Brown of the Titans and Ahman Green of the Packers may be the best of the free agents, and Cal's Marshawn Lynch and Auburn's Kenny Irons might be around if the Giants think replacing Tiki Barber is worth their first-round draft pick. Wide receiver: Amani Toomer says he should be ready for another year and Sinorice Moss should be a different player if he stays injury-free in his second season. Tim Carter isn't as bad as everyone thinks, and with Plaxico Burress as the No. 1 guy, the need here is not as great as at other positions -- although there's always room for another burner. Tight end: Visanthe Shiancoe is a free agent, so there may be a need for a backup for Jeremy Shockey. He may already be on the roster, however, in Darcy Johnson, who spent most of the year on the practice squad. Offensive line: Rich Seubert's ability to play center is a safeguard against losing Shaun O'Hara to free agency. Bob Whitfield won't be back, but Guy Whimper should be ready to back up the tackles. Though the Giants kept a bunch of young guards and centers around, adding a versatile Grey Ruegamer-type veteran might be a lower priority. Defensive end: Michael Strahan's recent headlines mean he will have to play a few more years. And as long as Justin Tuck can stay healthy, this should not be an area of concern. DEFENSIVE TACKLE: Rookie Barry Cofield did yeoman work as the nose tackle, but finally crumbled late in the year. He is better suited to play the off-tackle, where Fred Robbins excelled in 2006. A need remains for a big guy in the middle. LINEBACKER: This is the No. 1 area of concern. Carlos Emmons can't do it anymore and LaVar Arrington's return remains iffy. Brandon Short will become a free agent and Gerris Wilkinson didn't knock too many socks off as a rookie. That leaves Antonio Pierce surrounded by a group of question marks. The Bears' Lance Briggs and Ravens' Adalius Thomas will be high-priced free agents. New England's up-and-coming Tully Banta-Cain would be more affordable. Patrick Willis, a hard-nosed middle linebacker, is a top draft prospect. His addition could allow Pierce to shift to the weak side, where his speed would be advantageous. CORNERBACK: Asante Samuel will become a very rich individual in the off-season, particularly if the Patriots allow him to hit the open market. Can the Giants get into a bidding war for him? With Corey Webster a big question mark, it's uncertain whether they can take another chance with a rookie such as Michigan's Leon Hall or Pitt's Darrelle Revis. Safety: As bad as he was most of the season, Will Demps played his best ball in the last three games -- despite the one big whiff against Brian Westbrook in the playoffs. Gibril Wilson probably isn't going anywhere as a restricted free agent, and there are backups in James Butler and Jason Bell. Kickers: Jay Feely might not be back, and replacing him with another dependable kicker would be a must. Jeff Feagles wants to play another year. And the Giants should be on the lookout for a return man. E-mail: ditrani@northjersey.com
  11. He ran a 4.52 - 40 in the combine. I'd say that is pretty fast, especially since he is 250+ If he can stay healthy we should see a big season from him.... First Round pick has to go CB or LB unless someone extraordinary is there at the 20th pick. One of the middle round picks needs to go to an O-lineman, this way Whitfield doesnt need to be resurected incase of an injury this year.
  12. They are opening on a Sunday this year.... I used to skip school for opening Day mets.. went to the stadium a couple of times for it too. It is kinda BS that we have to go and watch them get their rings after how close that series was.... maybe it lights the fires early this year.
  13. I am trying to learn Photoshop, so if you dont like it dont use it
  14. I do not follow college football too close but I have read this is a strong RB draft. I would much rather look for a shifty type back with a late pick and spend the first rounds looking for a CB,LB, and OL.

    Draft

Both Branch and Hall will be on the top of their position for every teams draft board. What do you give up to move up at least 10 draft spots, would they be worth it
  16. i wish I could suck so bad at my job and get an extension..... hopefully this means we get Cowler after next year
  17. Lets just hope the new coaching staff and front office will have the brains to properly use his and this teams talent. The Giants number 1 play next year should be an off right tackle run... Get in there behind big Chris Snee and kick some ass
  18. What coach would want to have the shadow of Bil Parcells coming down from the front office..especially in NY! MAYBE that is the way that TC stays as coach for one more season...
  19. BJ should be the feature back of the new GIATNS power offense. He should start working on the Tiki no-fumble carry before Tiki and TC are un-reachable. They should sign a shifty little back as a change of pace expecting 5 - 10 plays a game. Maybee the guy could also be a kick returner.
