I do not think Ward was a huge loss (Average 3.6 yards per carry this year), the team was less committed to the run and less effective when they did decide to run it this season. I think the team going away from the run to the pass is a result of Eli becoming a better QB and Gil wanting to make him the focal point of the offense.... The offense did not exactly light it up the last two games either... a couple of garbage points late in a blow out.

Really? I would say I do not remember seeing such a good passing game but the running of the 07 team will win you many more games then passing. Teams had no fear of a running game because they know that Gilbride prefers to pass. Even the best offensive games of this season against the (Redskins, Oakland, Eagles G2) were the best running performance of the season.

I do not hate the Jets in so much as I do not wish them any particular misfortune... but I will not be rooting for them to make it to the superbowl.... although the dependence on a power running game and dominating defense is how I like my football....

True, but one or two speeches is not what this team needs, it needs a real leader who gets the players to step up and not be embarrassed this week and last. The defense has shown little fire since that Redskins game, and it is easy to get fired up when you are destroying the other team.

This game was a fittingly embarrassing loss to end an embarrassing season. This Team has no Heart and needs a new coaching staff and some leaders to show up on the field

I do not think that could be possible... last week they had their playoff future in their hands and shat their pants against an inferior team with nothing to play for except pride. Personally i would rather see them loose a close game today for a slightly better draft pick
