I do not think drafting Eli's replacement is as important as getting a couple of stud O-line men so he can actually execute this offense. Look at Romo last night, he had 7 - 8 seconds to get passes out, Eli would be a monster if he had that sort of time to OBJ and Cruz

I think you are right... I mean he has had shit luck with injuries to his defense, but he seems slow to adjust at best. It always seems opposing offenses have some play in their back pocket that is more or less a guaranteed big gain. The pass rush last night was less then non-existent

Carl Banks on the radio yesterday made mention to if he come and played this Thursday he would have the freshest legs on the field. BUT the Giants PR guy pointed out he has not even had a single practice so expecting anything from him seems a bit far fetched. On a whole it was a typical Giants performance. They can look like a well oiled machine, be moving the ball with relative ease and then do some dumb shit like a bag fucking snap on a gimme field goal

Apparently the Sunday night announcing crew really got on the number of flags thrown. I know the first half of the game was pretty fucking ridiculous.

My oldest Son's Pee Wee team has games at 1:00 so I was coaching. I had set the DVR, but when I got in the car it was 4th quarter and Giants were up 14-13. I was shocked and raced home to watch the end of the game. Between our home field and my couch... Cruz drops that first pass (Pappa and Banks were all over him about that drop) the punt return (Banks sounded like he was going to suit up and take the field) then the fucking fumble on the return and following field goal. I turned on the TV to see Cruz second drop. So I never watched the first 3 Qtrs, not sure I want to knowing the way they fell apart. Maybe it was my fault for turning on the radio at that point?

The Jets game too... just tons of flags way too often. Then it seems they miss obvious ones and you get even more frustrated

He makes a lot of points that are hard to argue... but he fails to mention just the time it takes to get an offensive line to gel... let alone a new offense to start running well. Those two things combined are a very dangerous situation. Hurrying Eli with pass rushers in his face is not going to help him execute quickly. It is going to make for a very interesting season, have to hope the running game can step up and the defense hold its own. 8-8 does not seem unrealistic...

The game was unwatchable with the amount of penalties last night. Basically every pass you were looking for a flag. That is not what people want to see! You have to hope it's just a preseason push to try to send a message. Officiating like last night no chance the Seahawks even made to playoffs let alone win the Super Bowl last year.

I was at camp today... As much I miss Albany you are so much closer to the action in the shadow of giants stadium. They started early today going through some plays at about half speed against set defenses. Looked like a drill to have qb go through the reads. Sometimes there was not even a pass. Even on an ugly flea flicker with cruise all alone down field. My first impression of 44 Andre Williams is he is a thick strong looking back. Did not look tall but I imagine he must be quite a load to tackle. A lot of time was spent on punts. 15 holiday seemed to be taking the most of them and he had at least one muff and a couple less then sure handed grabs. Cruz, Wilson and one other were taking turns including some one handed. In the 11-11 drills the offense seemed to be having their way with the d. Probably because of limited contact on receivers or backs but Eli was looking pretty sharp. They all headed into the building and we went to autograph area just to find that it was already full and I could not get my kids in there. Eli was signing today and I think people skipped practice to be in autograph pit. So we left. Not sure if the players came back out but I drank a beer in the lot and still beat the traffic out.

I was talking to a Bills fan about it today. He seems to have the impression that Watkins is the next Larry Fitzgerald. I still do not see him being THAT much better then the next WR's on their draft board. I guess we will see, but if he does not equal an additional 5 wins or so next season, watching Cleveland use their top 10 draft pic again will be a kick in the frozen nards of all Bills fans.
