  1. The Giants do owe it to Cruz. The guy has produced insane amount of production and even help the team win a Super bowl. If it wasn't for Cruz, you think Mario Manningham gonna get all that shine?.. of cause not, any Giants fan can agree that Cruz has been a great team player for the Organization and believe his time will come to collect. I believe the Giants need to fork over the right amount of money before he really test out the market where he could get Half of what Megatron got.

I believe the agent will say to the Giants that Cruz was undervalue and need to be paid for the past performance.

  2. If there was no salary cap then fine. But we don't need Jake Long, and you don't pay $10+ million for a player you don't need. We need a solid, tough, RT. Keep in mind you just paid Beatty on average $7+ million a year to play LT, a good signing for a good player. You're not going to pay a street FA to play RT for more than that. Maybe you go for a Jeremy Trueblood for $4.5 million per year or maybe you target a guy like DJ Fluker in the draft, who can start right away at RT. And we really don't know much about how the organization feels about Brewer's development, if he can step in at RT. So whatever they do or don't do in free agency at RT will be telling as far as just how they feel about Brewer, in particular. He's still around, so that's something.

Great point.. like i said before it would be a dream to sign Jake Long but i know it won't be possible as we just sign Beatty and don't have room for another huge signing.. i'm just trying to point out that Jake Long is a top player and Miami could let him go because they can't pay the money he's asking.. same thing with Mario WIlliams that went to the Bills..

  3. why are the dolphins letting him go for nothing then? it's a 27 year old 4 time pro bowl left tackle that they've already invested the first overall pick in.

it all come down to money... Jake Long wants 11million per year and Miami don't wanna pay that kind of money. so they letting him taste the water.

  4.

Beatty started 15 out of 16 games last year, Long played in 12, and commits a sht load of penalties is a poor run blocker and wasn't great pass blocking the past two years. Long has finished the season on IR, two years in row, Beatty really had major injuries in 2010, he hasn't been injured, has much has people think. Long has torn his Labrum and Biceps and has already had surgeries on both knees

Jake long has been to 4 pro bowls in the last 5 or so years. Dude is a stud Linemen, great left tackle. I don't know where you get the "shit load of penalty " from. The guy been playing for crappy QBs one after another and yet he still kept them up right.

Injury is there but he is still young at 27 and I believe he'll bounce back from it. He's one of the top LT in the game today along with joe Thomas.

We could only wish to land a guy like him. Beatty is no where near pro bowl from what he has done with his time in the league. Yes he been injured and learning since being drafted but Jake Long was voted to the pro bowl during his first two season.

  5. No, it's not a bad thing at this point...just merely pointing out that pushing the pushing the reporting of the expense down the road should be done with caution.

it's a simple mimic of the U.S economy.. sooner or later we'll be just like the buffalo bills where we're in a few rebuild years. but i'm guessing all this pushing the cash down the road is to make a push at the bowl each year as long as Eli's playing..

  6. Def still need some o-line help from the draft.

Snee - injury took a major hit on him last year. he will come back but won't be the all-pro guard that he was but still avg/above avg at best.

Baas - was never really high on this guy but the signing was ok for his service. Avg at best.

Delhi - age has taken a toll on the guy. He no longer has the speed for a tackle. Maybe still serviceable on guard. Need a replacement soon

Beatty - young and has talent. But I haven't seen anything that stands out. Guy was injury most of the time. Performance are Just avg at best. . the giants paid for a gamble which was worth the risk. Cut him next season if he don't pan out. Keep him if he can do a avg or above avg job. Good risk from the giants.

Who the fuck is gonna be our guard??? This is where the draft comes in. We got super lucky when we drafted snee on the second round. Lets hope we can do that again.

Overall we still need help on the line. Only chance is draft or some lucky Cruz magic where we get a guy on the streets. Maybe that Petrus guy we cut comes back after changing his life and become a determine player.

  7. It's actually a good deal. Watch, some of the other free agent left tackles will get more money than Beatty.

that's true,, all the proven LT are asking for top dollars.... like.. Jake Long..or Joe Thomas.

I guess it's ok deal.. if he pan out.. we struck gold (unless he holds out, asking for higher dollar bills) or he can suck balls and we cut or restructure his contract.
