The Texans sent out a press release less than an hour ago saying they had re-signed FB Vonta Leach. Well, they jumped the gun. I just got a call from a member of Houston's PR department telling me a new relase is coming my way soon. This one will say they haven't resigned Leach...YET. Now, read carefully: They might match the Giants' offer to Leach eventually (they have until Monday). But they haven't done so yet. (UPDATE: Just got the new release. It doesn't mention Leach at all; only that they've released QB David Carr and RB Dominick Williams while re-signing RB Ron Dayne. They merely deleted Leach's name and all references to him.)

Contrary to belief that our team is loaded with weapons, did Eli have anyone to throw to last year? Shockey was utilized mostly for blocking, Plax doesn't try every down, and that's your #1 WR. And we did maximize Barber coming out of the backfield. We need another target for Eli. I wouldn't be opposed to the idea of moving Shockey to a flanker type receiver and acquiring another TE within the next few years. I also have high hopes for our own Anthony Mix. I like what I saw out of him in training camp and preseason.

You get 5-7 more years out of Melky and you also get better pitching in a trade involving Matsui rather then Melky.

By trading down, we avoided drafting a thug (Holmes) and drafted a stud at DE who will be a force along with Osi and we also drafted a WR who gives us the exact type of player we need. That was a great trade. Didn't we also land Wilkinson because of it too?

The Giants actually did something smart with this. My prices weren't raised because I'm at the 20 yard line in section 315, but the 50 yard line 300 sections were moved up 5 bucks.

If it makes you guys feel better, Joe Banner the Eagles owner said that they did a shitty job managing the Stallworth situation and with player management.

The Cowboys one to me IMO is no better then the one he had against Philly and Carolina. The Carolina fumble was horrible... he's lucky Shockey picked it up.
