I've noticed huge strides in his swing lately. While that stupid leg kick is still there, he is quicker on pitches and is driving balls the other way and towars the middle more and more. That upper cut slowly appears to becoming more level.

No... we had just won our 6th straight this time last year. I'm not worried though. Wright is hitting balls a lot harder. That pitcher last night sucked though. I saw so many pitchers that looked hittable, and just weren't hit.

He was pitching very effectively and showed an amazing ability to escape trouble. His ERA inflated to 5 because of teams eventually hitting him with men on. If he can find the plate more and strike out the batter early in the count instead of striking him out in the 7th or 8th pitch, he'll be very effective. Better then Tavarez.

yeah I'm not too worried about the NL East. The Braves are lacking right now in the bottom of the rotation and everyone knew the Phils would get hot, and we just happened to get cold at the same time. It happened last year too except in May. They came within 3.5 or 4.5 and then they got cold and we pulled away. They are a streaky team and don't concern me.

Who knows if there is one going to be available. And if there is and we push after him hard and don't get him, how do you think Plax will feel about us trying to replace him while he's still under contract? This is a fragile situation.

gorilla, Julio is actually leading the league in pinch hitting with a .265 average in pinch hitting situations. His BA has dropped when he starts. If you haven't noticed, he is pushing Ollie more and more every start. Sending him to a 120 pitches, and he understands that he is now our workhorse. I like that. What's wrong with pitching El Duque 6 innings every time out? We need to keep this guy healthy at all costs, and if an extra inning of bullpen work is what we need to keep him as healthy as can be, then it's fine by me. I think its the players choice sometimes to bunt. That's all it seems Endy was doing before he got hurt. We don't really have an official setup man anymore. It changes everytime, depending on the batters coming up. I like that strategy. If 2 out of the next 3 are lefties then Feliciano would come in to pitch the 8th. I like that.

According to John Delcos of the Journal News, OF Ricky Ledee has been called up from Triple-A New Orleans while IF/OF David Newhan has been sent down. Ledee is in the lineup tonight, batting ninth. At least when Ledee bats .185 it'll be a new face. We'll see Newhan in a platoon in the OF for the Royals next year

I originally didnt have a problem with Bonds until I read up more on what he did. What a true asshole and classless dick he was in his time in the majors. I don't blame Bonds for being successful for Steroids. I blame Bonds for being a jerk in the process. If Bonds was a nicer guy, what's the difference between him and Alex Gonzalez? One had success with it, the other didn't. Too bad though, Bonds brought that on himself.

No that was shockey who made the catch guys. And that was a good throw by Eli, we'd be talking about how good a throw that was if there was a corner that was covering shockey stride for stride. But guys like Schoenweis deserve to be forgotten for a loss like this? I don't care about the money and the magnitude of the games that Wagner has saved (which he has done twice against the Yanks btw), when he blows his first game and Schoenweis blows his 4th or something, Wagner doesn't deserve all the blame. Come on, you know better then to blame one guy for our loss last night and our 4 game losing streak. This team has been playing mediocre ball, and it's getting very annoying.

Billy's not the only guy to blame for tonight's loss. I don't like to give passes, but the way he's pitched this year up until tonight makes me hesitant to blame him. It's schmucks like Ben Johnson in the 2 hole that's hurting us. Endy before his injury couldn't bat batting second. Reyes hasn't had any big hits ever since we moved Lo Duca down, and we haven't had a legitimate hitter since we moved Lo Duca down. I don't get it. Basically taking away Reyes's bat.

I was joking. The way our OF is lining up for the future, I'd rather go with an infielder anyway. It'd be great if the Angles were willing to trade Kendrick but I doubt it...

There's a monster WR coming out of Cal that goes by the name of DeSean Jackson coming into the league next year through the draft, if we get our hands on him that can give us a way to afford to cut ties with Plax by his 4th or 5th year if he continues his antics. But I don't think Smith will be the guy that replaces Plax.

Once Green and Alou come back I'd love to turn Easley into an OF and make Gotay be our backup second basemen. More importantly, it would make Newhan the odd guy out.
