Back to the topic of dropped passes a couple of pages back... theres just one play that for some reason has been stuck in my mind all off-season. It was against Jacksonville. Eli probably threw one of the best passes I'd ever seen out of any QB I've watched, right in stride in Plax's hands. But randomly, maybe he lost it in the lights idk, Plax tries to tip it to himself. He was behind the secondary and it would've been a TD. We would've been up 17-13 if he caught it I think. Instead, he made what appeared to be a circus catch and the play was overturned. It never should have gone to tipping, it was right in his hands.
It seems that whenever Eli makes that great long pass, either Carter was floundering for it or Plax was trying to make a show offy play. Sometimes it's great, but others its useless. Here's to hoping a guy who has the capability to get by the secondary, ala Steve Smith, can haul in those passes and go all the way.
