  1. Can't you laugh at your own team?
  2. Coming from a Mets fan, I disagree. Despite the hype that I wrote on the GMB, I really knew that we were at least a year away. I knew Beltran was overpaid from the get go, because he was not going to perform at the rate of which he did with the Astros and is a fucking career .267 hitter. Not worth 119 mill IMO. I knew we need a 1b, second basemen, and stronger middle relief. We just weren't consistent enough. Where we finished was really my realistic prediction of what was what I expected, which was 82-70.
  3. One last question, is that Angels catcher you recommended going to start? And what about the Marlins catcher?
  4. How much money are they paying you to say that?
  5. I've learned to laugh at that by now. I even laughed at it the day after that disaster. Anyway, it's a very good signing. We get his experience in the secondary along with talent necessary for a potential Super Bowl run and also, he can mentor guys like Deloatch and Webster. I have a feeling Sam can really have a big impact on Corey.
  6. Being serious for once, when have they been right?
  7. Well, I'm pretty much tired of hearing this shit about Eli not playing any role in getting us to the playoffs. In his last few games, he did look pretty bad and at times putrid, but he managed to the game well enough to go 4-1 in the most important month of the year. Obviously, Tiki played a huge role in that but don't take anything away from Eli. However, there is one game that undoubtely canopolted us into the playoffs. I bring this up often but here it is anyway: GIANTS VS. BRONCOS 10/23/05 That was the game of all games. Not just from an emotional fan's standpoint; but from a winning team's standpoint. I am willing to bet you that AT LEAST we would not have won the division because we would have had a two game losing streak heading into a crucial division game against the Redskins, who just came off a what, 52-17 win over SF at home? We would have been 3-3 going into that one. They would have been 4-3 I believe. Not to mention, we would have wound up 10-6 at best if we didn't win that game and the Skins would have had the tiebreaker over us. So, we would've been pushed out of the division champion role. Not as if it made much of a difference anyway but having a division crown in arguably one of the toughest divisions in football is very nice. That really got us a lot of momentum and really was the main reason we got into the playoffs. And guess who was the main reason we won? That's right, Eli Manning. It's a chain effect.
  8. Broncos game was pretty good to me. And the Raiders too. Also, when he came on, he drew the double teams more, which may have been the reason Toomer and Shockey both had very good second half of the seasons. Also, I'm not expecting a WR to have stretchable hands, which would have been necessary for SOME and only SOME of Eli's passes, at least that were thrown to him. Second Skins game was a disgrace though.
  9. Either way, I don't want to play against TO twice a year.
  10. Just curious, when was this written? It may very well have been written before the CBA deal was done. We don't save much money if we cut Luke, no one gets that. The chemistry of our o-line is rapidly improving with some guys locked up long term who have potential. They are still meshing so why switch that around? Luke is actually doing very good keeping Eli off of his ass for the most part.
  11. Luckily, we avoided potential fights and breakdowns involving Plax and Shockey. I think all of you are too rough on Shockey. He only showed his frustration minimal amount of times. It was Plax that was obvious. He walked off the field in opposite directions of Eli and had that stupid walk that showed how "gangsta" he is. However, when Eli was doing fine, Plax was fine. And we expect Eli to be fine right? Obviously, you don't want that fact out of your #1 WR lingering but the problem can be avoided. And Plax is more then fine with the media. After the Panthers game he said "Maybe I should take a look in the mirror." They'll be fine. Plax has to be more consistent though. 11 drops really isn't acceptable.
  12. I got lucky. Foulke didn't go undrafted but was dropped. As for McCarthy, he was also recently picked up and I got him. Now I'm receiving multiple offers that involve trading Cantu away. What do you think of Jorge?
  13. Thank you god. Another thing off my to be stressed about list. Now what?
  14. Sadly, I find myself watching this and cheering as loudly as V-tek hit a home run and gulp, A-rod got on base as I do in a pennant race game against the Braves. :brooding: I just can't get away.
  15. I'm taking notes for this for fantasy. Nice stuff guys.
  16. I'm not sure but I think Ramsey is an FA. And you guys almost gave up a top 5 pick for him a couple years ago. Personally, I'd rather keep Frerotte then Ramsey.
  17. And also, what do you think of Prince Fielder? I am thinking of making a trade for him and eventually getting rid of Thome for a proven pitcher.
  18. Well, I just dropped Eaton for Foulke, a move I'm pretty pleased in. I'm looking for the guys you listed like McCarty soon. Thanks for the advice.
  19. I'm glad we got through the span of time where we were willing to trade him for Manny. Although I was all for that trade, I knew deep down that we were giving the Sox an amazing prospect, a player with so much talent for a guy who seems to want out pretty randomly. So I'm glad we got through that period of temptation for the most part and aquired our guys without giving Milledge up... yet.
  20. I'll be honest. I absolutely despise the Yankees. However, when it comes to here I don't let my bias and hatred get in the way of debates involving them too often, but sometimes the hate can't be denied. Come on, even you can admit we'll finish ahead of Florida this season
  21. Give him a nice one or two year deal with an option for a third depending on how it goes and make sure that you have complete control with Arrington. Even though Lavar and AP didn't play much on the field together, it is obvious that Lavar has respect for him. I remember he said that he was the reason they were the #1 or #2 ranked defense or somewhere in that top spot in the NFL. That is a very strong compliment.
  22. Why bother responding? This time it wasn't even football.
