  1. Just want to say now, I believe there is no chance Lendale falls to us. And if he does I suggest we either take him right off the bat or use the fact that a guy like White is available and trade down to say, the Colts spot and obtain numerous picks for him. That's also a scenario. I feel it's one year too early to draft a RB in the top 2 rounds, unless a guy like White falls that low or other steals fall down. The only TE I'd want to take is Vernon Davis, and as we know he would not fall down that low. I'd rather trade down or just trade the pick altogether for a future first round pick. Some interesting scenarios you bring up, but highly doubtful.
  2. He before he got injured was turning into one of the best WRs in the NFL. A fourth round pick for a proven guy like him is a steal.
  3. Seeing what you posted there, I am willing to spend a middle round pick on him in either the 2006 draft or the supplemental draft. It's not as if he'll be a TO of the team and destroy us if he doesn't work out.
  4. I actually fully expect Houston and NO to trade down. Both teams are attracted to the Reggie Bush name but when it comes to team needs, they should try to obtain more picks/players and get a guy of better value later in the draft.
  5. Tyree better be a WR if he wants to live up to the amount of money we paid him. He could be a decent #4. That Dallas game to end the 2004-2005 season showed me that he can make some catches and it turns out he is very fast. He could even be a #3 if he really is worked on.
  6. Seeing that the Colts had so many weapons on offense for the last few years or so, I'd rather have a more balanced type team, where we continue to spend our big bucks on defense and then possibly have enough money to get another threat to our offense. When you think about it, EA deserves major props for managing this team. Almost every position is filled with at least a decent player and he continues to look for more playmakers or players who can fill in whatever holes there are. We are a very, very well-balanced team.
  7. I think Carter can be the equivalent of a third round WR pick though. I'm not disagreeing that we shouldn't go WR in third round but I think we should look for value more then position in those type of rounds with the players we have. Carter is really the guy that can take our offense to another level. Carter and/or Taylor that is. Their speed and big play capability is tremendous if they can catch the ball on a consistent basis and of course, stay healthy. I'm all for drafting a WR in the first couple rounds, maybe even third. But after that unless it is the BPA, I don't really think that we should draft a WR there. For all we know, that guy could be the #6 WR with Taylor, Carter and Tyree in front of them. Don't want our third rounder to go to that.
  8. I'm not disagreeing with going after a third WR. I myself have been saying for a while now that we should draft a WR in the first round or at least in the top two rounds to be an extra threat and a future replacement for Toomer if we do fill our voids up. However, in terms of being elite, I think this can be done quite simply if we keep our team together, stay healthy, and play to our full potential. I agree with your second paragraph. But I do feel that LB and DT is more of a priority right now then putting our offense at #1. As we know from watching the Colts, #1 offense isn't necessary. I could tolerate #3 offense and #9 defense combined with #1 special teams.
  9. If we get Arrington then I see ourselves keeping Luke, but still drafting a LT in the first round if we fill our other needs along with Lavar.
  10. But you have to look at his point. With a QB playing as mediocre than any other QB in the league, we still produced a lot of points. Now, if we get the production that is expected out of Eli in his third season, with special teams helping us get into good field position and our defense supposedly healthier and more improved, I expect us to be in the top 5 in multiple offensive categories.
  11. Josh has been known to do this for a long time now. Victor Diaz did the same thing last year and Beckett was obviously pissed off. Ironically, they never seem to be home runs when Beckett yells at these guys for admiring long shots. Diaz got a triple on it.
  12. I was referring to as of now. Anything could happen.
  13. I don't see why we should draft a DT in the first few rounds. I'd rather get more depth in the secondary and at LB, rather then spend three years trying to develop a DT where we can get a better, more proven one in FA. I have a dislike for drafting DTs in early rounds.
  14. I've been all for Arrington over Buckner for a while now. I'm having dreams of signing both of them though. Any remote chance that happens?
  15. I can almost feel it. December 10th, Giants vs. Bears. 30 MPH winds 28 degrees with a wind chill of 10. Cloudy skies with a slight chance of flurries. Final score: Giants 13 Bears 9 I'm loving these daydreams right now.
  16. Four actually. I like Duckett. But a guy like Buckner would help stop potentially some of the most potent offenses in the game right here in the NFC EAst.
  17. I don't know why but I'm feeling either a good defensive game with us winning 21-17 while they are still adapting to a new RB or a blowout where we win 34-17 where everything was working and the 12th man is just dominating that night. Strategy in late March, I love it!
  18. Wow, two awesome pieces of news I just got when I turned on the computer.
  19. I'm so fucken pumped right now.
  20. The feeling I experienced after Toomer's game winning TD pass against Denver was undescribable. Definitely Toomer.
  21. That's certainly an interesting opener...
  22. Depending on what time of year the game is being played, I may head down and see that game too
  23. Honestly, it seemed no one had their true swing except maybe Beltre who was better in the WBC then last year and maybe Griffey too.
