Cards are having a kickass draft. SF has made some solid picks. Jacksonville also has made some nice picks with Deangelo Williams and Demetreius Williams in the fourth round. Philly also has had a superb draft so far.

scouting report Supposedly a smart player. Hasn't shown much in his career but supposedly has an upside. I was hoping for DT Orien Harris but I guess our FO liked this guy more.

Wasn't Corey a projected top 10 pick if he played a full season at full health? I'm sure he has a lot of talent. From the negatives I've read in Mathias' scouting report, I think with time and proper coaching, he can become a very, very good DE. It seems like he has all the tools and the kinks in his game can be fixed with adding muscle and learning proper technique in the NFL along with learning agressiveness. And when you get to watch Michael Strahan up close 16 games a year (hopefully in this case 19), you are probably going to learn something.

Pat Kirwan actually said on Sirius radio that he loves the Mathias pick and thinks on third down we move Strahan and Tuck to DT and OSi and Mathias at ends. Thoughts? If those two can play DT at least 3/4 as well as they play end, that's one sick pass rush.

That's the one thing that got me but wasn't he arrested three times? Wasn't he suspended for two semesters at one point at USC? The kid has character issues and there certainly is a reason all 32 teams passed on him, some of them twice.

I don't think many people can prepare for the real thing. This has gone such a way that some experts didn't come close to.

Apparently, the Giants aren't sold on Tuck for the future. Or maybe we foresee Tuck moving to DT as a Giant.

Thing is, we still got our guy at WR, and we also got our future at DE in Mathias who can also come in now and maybe keep Strahan more well rested. Why jump to concluisons so quickly?

When he came up the middle on certain rushes... he looked a little faster then the forty time says. The forty time is bad to judge an LB by because they usually start running when they are standing. On the forty time, I believe they start with their hands on the ground, so that may hold their time back a bit. For all we know, maybe we do intend for him to do something while starting in the near future. We, as simple message board posters, can speculate all we want right now and now know what we do with our first three choices.

That response is acceptable. Ones saying that this is a waste of a draft and it will give us horrible results for now and the future is really not that rational at this point. I expect us to be back to normal tomorrow
