You brought up that the trade with Mirabelli was "retarted." So I brought Loretta into this to bring up the fact that the Sox were not retarded for trading Mirabelli. I said Loretta for Mirabelli was a great trade for the Sox, and you went on about how Loretta is being overhyped by me, but not agreeing or disagreeing about the topic at hand, which is if Mirabelli for Loretta was a good trade or not.

Thing is, that situation occurs once every five days. Loretta is an outstanding every day player and an excellent glove in the field every single game. And it's not as if Wakefield was a guy they had to have kept. If a situation arose with Wake and the guy catching him, then they could get rid of Wake and find a suitable replacement. Obviously, that would not be an ideal situation for them but he is replaceable and Loretta is an outstanding player. And Bard is a better hitting catcher then Doug. He could've made up for the passed balls and things such as that.

It is another relatively old lineup. That means injuries. No way all nine of those guys stay healthy throughout the year, and the only way you get to 1200 is that a few of those players overacheive big time and they stay healthy throughout the year. Bonds' OBP wouldn't be as high because with A-rod or Giambi behind him, they'd actually have to pitch to him. You are giving that lineup way too much credit. But it's not going to happen anyway. The Yankees may actually look seriously at piching this off-season, and exclude hitting completely.

You're joking right? Loretta is a former batting champion and would fill a big hole at second. He has proved already to be a perfect #2 hitter and also, can hurt the Yankees big time. Mirabelli is practically a career .180 hitter. I think the Sox raped SD in this deal, especially since they got him back for a minor leaguer and Bard. I think any team in the league would sacrifice a catcher once every five days for a player the caliber of Loretta.

I really hope he comes back into football. He's a good CB and could help out another team. I think this opens up a major oppurtunity for Webster, who I expect to have a breakout year this season.

I think he doesn't even want to come back next year. And if he does, he doesn't exactly put your lineup on a different level. I think that lineup is worse than this years. Don't get too ahead of yourself.

I think you are forgetting that Bonds sucks now, and at most, his production at DH will be 20 homers. You're giving way too much credit to Bonds. Bernie wouldn't even be in that lineup next year. He's done after 2006.
