i would give up next year as rebuilding if belichick felt he needed to clean house of malcontents. i haven't heard any player say he didn't like playing for him.
thats a bit of a back track from your original statement. to me, if shiancoe plays, the defense doesn't have to account for him. while if shockey plays, they have to double plax and put the ss on shockey.... which opens up other options.
I don't know why he had the dropsies today but that completion after dropping the ball in his own end zone was favre-like. do you think our qb would have had the presence to save the game there?
While neither is a 'complete' head coach, I give the nod to Fassel so far. He created an offense from a barren wasteland. He did what he was hired to do. Coughlin was hired to bring discipline and curb injuries. He's done neither.
So because Collingsworth said Shiancoe is a better blocker than Shockey, you believe it? This is the first game in 2 years that Shiancoe has had a positive impact on a game. Most of the time, he's dropping passes or getting dumb penalties. 31 teams in the league would love to get their hands on Shockey.
i think you're right. a team would have to overpay for lowry, a young lefty with a major league changeup. would have to be a proven hitter, preferably with speed.
When you have talent that's not acheiving its potential, the fault falls squarely on the head coach. The atmosphere was created for these guys to be vocal. You can bet Tiki would think twice about making that announcement with Parcells around. If he did, you would have seen a lot more of Jacobs. Coughlin lost this team last year at the Carolina game.
