  1. This may go down as one of the best trades the giants never made.
  2. no info yet on how much- In an odd twist, the man who took his spot last season was Dave Tollefson, who was selected off of the Raider's Practice Squad.
  3. Raiders sign Joseph Oakland, CA (Sports Network) - The Oakland Raiders signed free agent defensive lineman William Joseph on Friday. Joseph was a first-round draft choice of the New York Giants in 2003 and has played in 56 games, including 17 starts. Throughout his career, Joseph has recorded 74 tackles, seven sacks, two forced fumbles and six passes defended. The Miami-Florida product was a member of the Giants squad that won Super Bowl XLII in February. Joseph saw action in the regular season opener before making his way to the injured reserve.
  4. agreed. give a rook the roster spot. he should have done better with the Giants OL in front of him, not to mention a kickoff returner with no moves whatsoever.
  5. calling the west coast offense nonsense is nonsense. it was very successful for a lot of teams for a number of years. so successful that defenses finally figured out ways to defend it. these things are cyclical just like the 3-4 was so dominant for a while.
  6. stop missing tackles and it may happen.
  7. all i get is a strahan story.
  8. he saved me from a life of kannell's 3 yard curl patterns.
  9. talk about a desperate housewife.
  10. no, i'm not annoyed they didn't spend money- i look forward to watching the kids play. it would have been easier when the division sucked though. brian wilson's seems ok- i don't think a closer is very relevant for the giants this year. next year, they'll be a much better free agent pool and the young arms will be primed.
  11. who cares about backups, they hold clipboards- eli goes down, not one of these scrubs can help us. i'd rather have a rook.
  12. I lived in Long Beach for about 10 minutes (relatively). Speaks in Island Park was a cool club. Saw South Side Johnny and the Jukes there a few times.
  13. shit, 4 teams in that division may have 90 wins- and i know where a good portion of those wins are going to come from.
  14. I don't rate Torre high at all- I don't put much value in any manager. As I said +/- 5 games on managers decisions.
  15. Penny. Lowe. Billingsley.Kuroda and then Schmidt in the 2nd half- that's pretty formidable. Plus the best hitting depth by far. I can't see how SD is going to run away from that- let alone AZ and CO- 95 wins to take that division. 82 won't cut it anymore
  16. yes and if omar vizquel hits 52 homer, giants have a shot.
  17. I don't see why everyone is so down on the Dodgers. From where I'm looking these guys are loaded. And don't say Torre is going to be a negative. Even if, you're talking +/- 5 games. I think they will win over 90 games and take the NL West and it pains me greatly to say this. And ditto, watch out for the Blue Jays, they make a lot of noise. Don't they have like 3 Aces?
  18. actually i do- jonas bronck, a dutchman used to own a lot of the land that is now a section of the bronx. On weekends, he and his family would invite his friends from the city to visit. they would say ' we are going to the broncks' and the name stuck.
  19. they're both a major liability in the field. i don't think an NL team should consider barry. tampa bay is his best bet.
  20. my dad used to take us to Yonkers for a 'ride to the country'
