Great hitting teams sometimes don;t go all the way. Some (I won't mention any names) even choke in the final month of the season and don't even make the playoffs- regularly.
But we are here today to celebrate the career of Jeffrey Franklin Kent.
Abso freakin lutely.
Maybe not first ballot but he's got the most homers by any 2nd baseman (by about 100) and when he was with the Giants, you could make a case for Bonds Kent Burkes being the best 3-4-5 hitters in the history of the game.
Too bad the guy is such a red ass, that may make him lose some years.
actually, i tire of your contrarianism, your ignorance, and your poor attempts at manipulation, so if you want to go for your last word louie comment, have at it.
wind is the biggest game changer. i can't believe you don't know this. and yes, i would rather throw against 9 in the box on a windy day if i can throw short passes. have you watched a game in this century?
not a grind it out power game, mr. csonka. a crisp short passing game is what they do have that makes them able to perform in wind. oh and a good defense.
Ray Lewis would scream himself hoarse his first day at training camp with all those loafers and crybabies. Seriously, Egg- you can't be happy with the goings on in Big D. Only Al Davis saves Jerry from being the most meddlesome owner in the league.
Bingo- I predicted that the dome would spell the eagles doom, but i thought it would be the Metrodome. Somehow, they got past that but they are definitely a bad weather team.
Plax could learn volumes from Larry Fitzgerald. Like the secret to a fade route is creating space at the line of scrimmage. Amazing to watch that guy work.
Whoever it is, we don't need someone who has a system that he sticks to like a religion. We need
someone who is a good evaluator of talent, consumes mass amounts of film, and then puts out
the best 11 guys and the best scheme for those 11 guys. I hate these 'genius' coordinators who
go around implementing their 'system' with no regard for the talent. This goes for Defense and
Offense.
i heard costas radio show this morning and he was talking hall of famers with 2 writers who had votes.
they talked about hoffman and a guy from elias said 'i'm going to have to search thru his box scores. i know he had a lot of saves but the ones i remember seem to be the blown ones. '
