well that's a convoluted answer. i could easily argue that a draft pick is more valuable than the actual player- kind of like once you drive a car out of the showroom...
a receiver of edwards stature is our ticket to miami. i can't see how this is not obvious. NFL is a win now league.
and the reason he will get a massive deal is because he is massively good.
if you were willing to trade your one for edwards, you'd have to be willing to trade nicks for edwards now. he hasn't done anything significant to raise his value except sign a contract.
As far as I was concerned, Plax only hurt the team by his absence. His antics were dealt with swiftly and professionally. Not saying I liked the way he acted, mind you.
When you have a solid core, you can accommodate some eccentricity.

Most other franchises, I say disgruntled player. But we already know how Denver handled Cutler and also Shanahan. The front office is sneaky so I give this player the benefit of the doubt but only if he's healthy enough.
Also, a lot of folks on this board have been clamoring for a exp'd WR since last season- it's certainly not a training camp epiphany that these receivers are not ready for prime time.
from what i've seen of roy williams so far, you should be panicking as well. but then, expectations are very very low in big d. if no one breaks the wide screen, it's a successful year. woo hoo
