  1. I would say injuries played a part. Giants got hit in the WR area, a place where they weren't very deep to begin with, having also lost their depth early on. . The OL injuries didn't bother as much because there was depth. Not an excuse, they just were not prepared to lose top 2 guys down the stretch. Timing being a factor as well. But again, scoring was not the issue down the stretch either.
  2. I think the Eagles will win. Got to take Andy Reid here. Especially if wind is a factor.
  3. 3-1 on the road in the playoffs. You've got to give the guy some credit. I would love to have him coaching the Giants.
  4. whoops cromaritie island just got invaded.
  5. how does that effect them not getting off the field on 3rd down? i think it's the fact we also have a big play defense man! We have great DL, excellent safeties and adequate corners. The LB's are non existent What teams were doing were going mass protect, neutralizing the pass rush and letting their 3 receivers bust the zone with long developing routes. If that didn't work, they'd throw to a safety valve who would get the 1st against non existent LB talent. How often did we get a sack on 1st down, 2nd and 20 and they get a first? that's what wears a D down.
  6. i don't know g spot. that's how it be.
  7. Gore is showing signs of wear, they need a tiki type anyway- not power runner. Why trade Vernon Davis? Get an OC that knows how to use him and an established QB, maybe a resurgent McNabb with something to prove and won't mind stepping aside in a year or 2. Get back to West Coast ball. Now I'm definitely going to the Giants game here.
  8. Harbaugh fun fact-has 5 kids under 10 yrs old with two differnt women. Prolific doesnt just describe his passing and coaching.
  9. Report: Harbaugh agrees to coach 49ers Five days after concluding its eighth straight non-winning season, San Francisco reportedly won a high-stakes pursuit for Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh today. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Harbaugh has agreed to a five-year, $25 million deal with the Niners. Schefter broke the news via Twitter at 12:36 p.m. today. Seven minutes later, the 49ers announced they will hold a press conference at 3:30 p.m. today at The Palace Hotel in San Francisco. In the end, the wild two-college, three-NFL-team competition for the coach’s services came down to a Bay Area battle between the Niners and Stanford. And Harbaugh chose San Francisco over the status quo. He also chose less money to sign with the Niners, who offered about $3 million less per season than the Dolphins, who fell out of the running Thursday night. The hiring of the offensive-minded former NFL quarterback, it is hoped, will enliven an offense which hasn’t ranked higher than 23rd in the NFL since 2004. The 49ers are expected to use an early round pick on a quarterback in the NFL draft in April and Harbaugh has a sterling record of success in developing young signal-callers. At Stanford, Harbaugh recruited Andrew Luck, who would have been the No. 1 pick in the draft if he had not announced Thursday that he was returning to college for his junior season. At the University of San Diego, where Harbaugh was the head coach from 2004-06, he developed Josh Johnson, who left the non-scholarship, Division I-AA program and was a fifth-round pick of the Buccaneers in the 2008 draft. Harbaugh’s jump to the NFL will rekindle his rivalry with Seahawks coach Pete Carroll, a noted adversary of Harbaugh’s when Carroll was at USC. In addition, Harbaugh will join his older brother, John, the coach of the Ravens, in the league. The 49ers are scheduled to play at Baltimore in the 2011 season.

  12. Luck staying at Stanford PSTANFORD — Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck says he will stay in school for another year instead of entering the NFL draft. More Information: Lowell Cohn on Luck's decisionLuck was widely considered to be the No. 1 pick by Carolina if he chose to leave school early. But he made his announcement Thursday that he wants to remain at Stanford so he can graduate as scheduled next year. (and stay the hell away from Carolina ) Luck led the fifth-ranked Cardinal (12-1) to a school-record 12 wins this season, including a 40-12 victory over Virginia Tech in the Orange Bowl on Monday night. Stanford is set to finish the season in the top five of the AP poll for the first time since the unbeaten 1940 team finished No. 2. Buzz up!

  14. When the Giants were bad I used to cling to shallow victories too.

  16. I thought milk crates were for holding up tireless cars on the Cross Bronx Expwy? And by tireless I don't mean that they have lots of energy.
  17. LB's and Tight Ends- that's how New England did it this year. May be worth a thought, Jerry.
