  1. yeah that's true. he just seems a lot bigger than even last season. people think the drug problem is over in baseball. take away the amphetamines, half the league has a scrip for ritalin take away the steroids and there's a new crop of hgh that's completely undetectable, especially without blood tests.
  2. he snapped out of it today
  3. Mouthing off is fine if you're doing it for the right reasons. Doing it to kickstart your broadcasting career isn't one of them. Anyone who thinks he criticized the team constructively was sadly misled. Great player though.
  4. Gimme a break with that guy. He looks like a Right Handed Giambi circa '99
  5. la supports them and baseball fine. thy are consistently in the top 10 attendance wise.
  6. Retired NFL stars to announce 2nd-round picks NEW YORK — Barry Sanders, Franco Harris, Marshall Faulk and 29 other retired NFL stars will announce their former teams' second-round picks at the NFL draft next Friday. The league announced Thursday it would have players announce the picks for an entire round for the first time. The Carolina Panthers, Miami Dolphins and New York Jets do not have second-round selections, so their representatives will announce their third-round picks. The other players are Aeneas Williams (Arizona), Jessie Tuggle (Atlanta), Peter Boulware (Baltimore), Andre Reed (Buffalo), Brad Hoover (Carolina), Richard Dent (Chicago), Anthony Munoz (Cincinnati), Paul Warfield (Cleveland), Charles Haley (Dallas), Shannon Sharpe (Denver), Jim Taylor (Green Bay), Aaron Glenn (Houston), Jeff Herrod (Indianapolis), Donovin Darius (Jacksonville), Willie Lanier (Kanas City), Sam Madison (Miami), Chris Doleman (Minnesota), Andre Tippett (New England), Willie Roaf (New Orleans), Joe Morris (Giants), Marty Lyons (Jets), Willie Brown (Oakland), Troy Vincent (Philadelphia), Natrone Means (San Diego), Dwight Clark (San Francisco), Cortez Kennedy (Seattle), John Lynch (Tampa Bay), Jevon Kearse (Tennessee) and Doug Williams (Washington).
  7. yeah but that was A ball. he's been billed as a gap to gap hitter. a lefty in ATT will have to learn to appreciate gaps, so that's not a bad thing. in my eyes, a big slingin lefty like mabumga is a more cherished possession than a 1st baseman. but, i'd probably trade either for reyes.
  8. yup he's go big or go home. and i do agree with tree that he deserves the criticism for last season.
  9. not trying to argue but it really doesn't need that much justification. BIC asked which QB do you want in the playoffs. eli is the QB i'd go with. i think he's a big game guy.
  10. most of his hits were not flush contact. they were dinks and thangs. he didn't really have many loud outs. he does work the count well. can you name many 6ft 5 singles hitters? i can't. how tall is hunter pence?
  11. he's got to learn to lay off the inside pitch and to play right field. can't do that in the majors. he'll be back. i would trade him though. never did like tall, lanky hitters much.
  12. certainly not worse. peyton has choked big time the last couple of years.
  13. Considering Peyton is what 8-9 in the playoffs, BB01's correct answer should be Eli.
  14. OK MLB actually bought the Expos so technically this is the first time they "took over" a team.
  15. > MLB Takes Control of the Los Angeles Dodgers I believe FOX got it wrong, Pretty sure MLB took over the Montreal Expos as well
  16. The Colts would have done well with Philip Rivers or Eli Manning.
  17. Blue in Canada, you have some good opinions. I heard this joke- can you tell me if it's funny? Two Canadians are sitting around in a bar bored out of their minds. One of them comes up with a bright idea, they'd try a guessing game. So one of them thinks and thinks and nothing is coming to his mind except moosecock. So his buddy asks him, "hey, did you think of a word yet?" He smirks and says, "Yeah, I guess so." "So is it edible?" "Yeah," he laughs, "I guess you could eat it." "Is it moosecock?"
  18. i think wright and that first basemen are untouchable. everyone else is up for grabs if the mets don't turn it around. the double whammy for wright was getting plunked in the head and changing stadiums. ask admiral what changing stadiums can do to the psyche of a team. especially guys with pop. there were some good hitters on the padres who never recovered.
  19. ayup- i would think that cough might step down after this year- if there is year. he'll be 65 before the season starts- if there is a season. fisher is the ideal replacement- experienced yet still hungry. doesn't think he's a rock star like chucky or the jaw.
  20. i vote reyes because i want his worth to go down by july.
  21. we were trying to replace uribe instead of getting a shortstop. i would've been fine with a light hitter with more range and arm. that position is important for that pitching staff. as for ludwig, he suffers from lackapujol, further comlicated by lackaAgon
  22. tejeda gave his all to you guys last year. stick a fork in him. no hit, no glove, no arm.
  23. Rockies are a class team, perhaps the class of the NL. And they've been playing well on the road, something they never do.
  24. This guy claims he's big blue 25 but he's not. 25 had some knowledge of football.
