  1. couple of points- 1. Romo looks much better in the backwards hat. 2. Romo is a much better golfer. (Of course he has more time to practice....)
  2. I went to Giants-9ers game in November with lots of blue showing. Everyone was good natured.
  3. Update: Sunny today but.... Tomorrow: Windy with showers. High around 55F. Winds SSE at 15 to 25 mph. Chance of rain 60%. Tomorrow night: Rain. Low 49F. Winds SSW at 10 to 20 mph. Rainfall near a half an inch.
  4. this is what i'm dealing with this week, T. (although, jones was accurate about the game. all hope was pretty much lost after he caught that pass. Mark Collins forever sucks for not falling on Montana's fumble) but, his vitriole for all things NY is what i'm dealing with. got my car serviced today and the rep outed me as a giants fan- no peace, none.
  5. Brent Jones- TE for the 49ers on that fateful day (teehee) talks about that game and his hatred for the Giants and NY in general. Start at about 3:00. (The 'Youngster' is Steve Young) http://www.knbr.com/portals/3/podcasts/murphmac/012012brentjones.mp3 "I turned to Lawrence Taylor and said "LT, I'm going back to the Super Bowl baby...."
  6. This is the same thing you said in '07. particles are aligning. as for dog, by PM do you mean tap on the shoulder?
  7. They say wind is the one element that can really change a game. I don't think they are predicting wind. so sloppy field, you're right.
  8. If you had to use those trough toilets, you'd be grumpy too.
  9. Kicking the ball off out of bounds at a crucial time, at any time, is inexcusable. This is going to be a sloppy track where field position is huge. the Niners have the 2nd best kicking tandem in the NFL. (Oakland first) He better have his big boy panties on..
  10. T, New Orleans isn't in the Western division anymore. I agree they have a 6 game cake walk. Actually Seattle played them tough and Az beat them. So 3 easy games in their division, plus a schedule based on 6-10. But they did beat the Eagles and Lions on the road and Pitt at home.
  11. you may be on to something there. their receivers aren't scary. VD has big games and then goes on the tank for 3 or 4. It was mostly just match ups with NO. Gore is a bruising runner but not a big play guy for the most part. delaney walker is scary out of the backfield but has a broken jaw and will have trouble getting on the field.
  12. you do realize we played them in week 10 and their Defense was pretty freakin strong. They have D Linemen like us, LB's unlike us and an improving backfield (like us). oh, and alex smith looked great against us. We're doomed
  13. Tom Coughlin, Hall of Famer? By TONI MONKOVIC If Tom Coughlin wins two more games, does he deserve serious consideration as a Hall of Famer? That this question can even be posed is a reflection of the N.F.L.’s roller-coaster nature. Because if Coughlin had lost to the Jets a couple of weeks ago, many Giants fans (most of them?) would have wanted him fired. And plenty of fans have wanted him fired at several junctures in his tenure with the Giants, including before the run-up to his last Super Bowl title, in the 2007 season. So this is more of a speculative exercise than anything — he hasn’t won anything this year. But let’s explore a little. Winning two Super Bowls doesn’t punch a Hall of Fame ticket. Tom Flores won two with the Raiders. So did Jimmy Johnson with the Cowboys. So did George Seifert with the Niners. None are receiving significant consideration as Hall of Famers. Flores has a low winning percentage (.527). Johnson lacks longevity (nine seasons). Seifert was handed a Mercedes by Bill Walsh. Bill Parcells won two with the Giants and will be in the Hall, maybe even this year. Mike Shanahan has won two, with Denver, and will most likely make it, although he has seemed to be trying to give it away in the last five years. Bill Belichick will obviously be in. Everyone else with at least two Super Bowls is in the Hall. Coughlin is tied with Jeff Fisher for 19th in career victories, with 142. He has 114 losses and a winning percentage of .555. He performed wonders with the expansion Jaguars, taking them to the A.F.C. title game in his second season and also in his fifth. If he coaches three more seasons at his current win percentage, he’ll pass coaches like Marv Levy, Bill Cowher, Joe Gibbs, Bud Grant, Mike Holmgren, and he’ll be near Parcells territory (No. 11 on the career list with 172 wins). Extra point Do you think Coughlin has a better resume than Seifert, Flores and Jimmy Johnson and could make it into the Hall if he wins this year’s Super Bowl? Andy Barall has been a voice of reason on Giants matters. Last January, he wrote: Why Keeping Coughlin Was the Right Call Below is the list of coaches in the Pro Football Hall of Fame: George Allen 1966-1977 Paul Brown 1946-1962 Guy Chamberlin # 1922-1927 Jimmy Conzelman # 1921-30, 1940-42, 1946-48 Weeb Ewbank 1954-1973 Ray Flaherty # 1936-1949 Joe Gibbs 1981-1992 Sid Gillman 1955-1969, 1971-1974 Bud Grant 1967-1983, 1985 George Halas # 1920-29, 1933-42, 1946-67 Earl (Curly) Lambeau # 1919-1953 Tom Landry 1960-1988 Marv Levy 1978-1982, 1986-1997 Vince Lombardi 1959-1967, 1969 John Madden 1969-1978 Earle (Greasy) Neale 1941-1950 Chuck Noll 1969-1991 Steve Owen # 1930-1953 Don Shula 1963-1995 Hank Stram 1960-1974, 1976-1977 Bill Walsh 1979-1988
  14. The whole game, although exciting, was played at a frenetic pace. They seemed to be running in place for a lot of the game. Not sure why NO didn't run more. They seemed to be successful at it.
  15. And all of a sudden, the entire SF bay area become Giants fans.
  16. He interviewed for many jobs. Raiders, Redskins, Chiefs OC, Rams, Broncos to name a few.
  17. "Cowboys 'are' everyone's Super Bowl" so we won already.
  18. Yes.. He was flying high when al died and there was no football people there. He would not have been happy just being head coach after that.
